I just wrote a review of a Netflix Docuseries called Fear City. It used Trump's name a lot in discussing the 1980s Commission trial. Basically everyone building a skyscraper in NY had to pay a mob-connected concrete company an inflated rate. So Trump was not really a mob friend, but more of a mob victim / cost of doing business.

I don’t think so. Here is a full list of his pardons.

He commuted his sentence. Not a pardon. DeCarlo had cancer and died five months later.

Thanks Scott.

his mentor is literally roy cohn.

trump did his first name branding deal with john staluppi for a limousine service in the 80s and rented helicopters from a company named dillinger charter service (also controlled by staluppi). the judge (aileen cannon) who dismissed the classified documents case in florida is married to a employee of john rosatti (running burgerfi, a company linked to him).

both also donated to his 2024 campaign.

I think the mob was definitely playing The Donald. He could declare taxpayer funded bankruptcy in AC on all those hotels and casinos and everyone knew that going into that deal. He was a frontman quite often and clearly loves playing that role.

Well, it's old news that Fat Tony's company, S&A Concrete, built the Trump Tower. Trump also purchased some land in Atlantic City from guys in the Philly mob.

Adam wrote: Wed Jan 22, 2025 4:45 pm There are weird things that pop up from time to time. The claim that Clinton almost pardoned Rosario Gambino was always odd. Trump's dealings with the mob are pretty clear. But it's Manhattan construction and Atlantic City in the 80s. In all honesty the stories that come out just seem like them taking advantage of him. I've seen nothing linking Carter to the mob. But Reagan and Jackie Presser were surprisingly close. At least for political reasons. George Herbert Walker Bush was more involved with people like Noriega. Ford I'm not aware of anything. Nixon literally released Hoffa. Then you get into Johnson and Kennedy, and I really think those connections are way overblown.
Regarding Carter, we can mention his near-nomination for Secretary of Labor of Anthony M. Scotto
