A lot of rape charges among mafiosi going way back. Cavita posted a breakdown a month or so ago of a future Rockford member who participated in an abduction/beating/rape of a woman when he was young. Joe Profaci had a rape charge in Sicily before he came here. Christie Furnari participated in an abduction/gang rape and later became consigliere. The list isn't short.
Sometimes these charges were statuatory or situations where a guy slept with a woman consensually out of wedlock and the family claimed rape to protect her honor, but many times they were horrific rapes in the true sense of the word. The mafia though will always side with their own insiders over a woman whose reputation can easily be distorted to justify the assault or they will hear the perpetrator's side of the story and go with that, etc.
While outsiders are more than justified in attacking Rovito's character, I don't see it as any kind of barrier within the insular world of Chicago's mafia nor something that would impact his friendship with Buffalo boss Joe Todaro, assuming he even knows about it. If Rovito had assaulted a female relative of someone involved w/ the mafia it likely would be seen much differently, though.
Mike Ciancaglini Jr. isn't a confirmed associate of the Philly Family but has been seen in surveillance of the clubhouse in recent years -- some on here may remember years ago he and a young Piccolo descendant were arrested when they were eighteen for getting 13-year-old girls drunk at the shore and taping themselves having sex with them. These were very young girls, not like they were even messing with 16-year-olds, but the made guys still welcome him around today.
