This kind of counts. Chris Nolan nil player Stanley cup champ with the Canadians was married to Teresa Stanley's daughter. Teresa Stanley was Whitey Bulger's long time girlfriend. It was during Whitey's southie reign too.

Frank Viola former MLB pitcher uncle/uncles were associates of Anthony Spero. John Franco was also connected to the Bonanno family but through Frankie Lino, he would invite them to games all the time there is even a picture floating out there of a few members he invited to a Mets game in Montreal.
