Do you remember where he mentioned Merlo and Corsentino? Watched it last night and I never heard either of their names or nicknames used.

He didn’t mentioned them by name in the interview but he uses their names in his book when talking about the same stories. He just didn’t use their titles in the book like he did in the interview.

he mentioned that when he was at Sacco’s, he was
introduced to a captain that was at a Funeral Home a few blocks away.
To me it’s unclear who was going to be the underboss in 2015 because Stango told him first that Merlo was staying as underboss and later he told him that he was going to be promoted as Underboss or Consigliere.

Which, by the way, dealt with all members living in the state including members from New York crews. Not just those from New Jersey crews. And things appear to have changed significantly.
What I would say is if in the 2004 there are so numerous in the 1964 would be more powerful. Plus the Luccheses and Genoveses crew had more power in the unions respect the DeCavalcantes.

The most powerful family out NY is Philadelphia. Even in the old days the Lucchese and Genovese NJ factions was more powerful then the DeCavalcantes.
Dont the decavs have 4 crews while the NJ luchese and genevese are only 1 crew each

In a 2004 report are reported 40 members in Lucchese crew and 50 in Genovese crew.
i thought Lucchese crew had 20 members at its peak

Not all crews are created equal. The DeCavalcante Crews have always been paper thin. This has been especially true since the big 1999 and 2000 indictments.

For those interested here the incident in question (from Gatto’s book).

The DeCavs had recently put on a social event in a catering hall, not only for crime family members but also for outside relatives, including dozens of children. Luigi had walked in, full of self-importance, now thinking of himself as a made guy. An old-school gangster named “Tin Ear” Sclafani, a former enforcer for the family who was now past his day, had been sitting with his walking cane when ...

The old man lifted the cane and poked Oliveri in the belly. “Hey Luigi, look at you! You're getting fat like your brother!” (Luigi's brother was an extremely heavy individual, three to four hundred pounds.) Luigi exploded, yelling and cursing, showing no respect for the old mobster in front of his wife and grandchildren and the other old timers sitting nearby. “You fucking old men! You don't know what's going on. Things are changing around here, and you better start fucking respecting me!”

Not surprisingly, members of the incoming Administration were extremely angry about Luigi's behavior. Charlie told me that Big Ears and Milk had visited him at his hotel room and told him about the incident. His reaction had been “The kid's out of control. We've gotta do something about him.” Their response was “Yeah, but there's gotta be a
