Also the Cartels get real sloppy when they press the cocaine and heroin into bricks. They’ll do 100 kilos of heroin/fent and then use the same machine to do 300 kilos of coke right after. There is fent residue all over the press, and it’s contaminating the cocaine. It’s gonna take years to undo the damage. I know so many people that used to causally use cocaine and now they won’t touch it with a 50 foot pole.
I think any cross contamination is happening at a local level, a much smaller level where the dealer is closer to the end user on the foodchain. The contamination isn't really happening at the production/wholesale level. To the cartels those are like 2 completely separate operations - products (cocaine and "heroin"...really fentanyl analogues) that are sourced from completely different locations, packaged at different locations, and trafficked here using different methods. I think the cross contamination thing is overblown - definitely scary and not worth playing around with - but it's more likely it's happening on a local level where some mid level dealer stateside got sloppy, versus it happening at production/packaging
