I know Amil. Some say he wacked Joey Naples simply to gain favor with Lenny Strollo. None knows why or what good it would have done him.
Convicted contract killer Robert Dorler Sr. who admitted to the Junior Senzarino hit after leaving blood evidence upon his escape, gave the FBI all the details regarding Amil. He dropped dead of a heart attack in prison after giving a written affidavit and was willing to testify...the indictment went out the window the minute he dropped dead. Per FBI SA Bob Kroner.
Yes, I remember. I also heard that the Feds didn't pursue charges against Amil because with Joey dead and Lenny being convicted there was little or no Mafia left in the Mahoning Valley. It appears as though they were right ;)
The Feds didn’t want to be exposed of being on the payroll lmao
The Feds on the take - No Way - yeah Sure ;)

Dinsio's book, "Inside the Vault" is very good and I highly recommend it.

There's also a handful of good YouTube clips about the burglary, just search "Amil Dinsio".

Phil Christopher, whom Amil now regrets including as part of his Laguna Nigel "team", also wrote a book a few years back called "Superthief". It's a bit meandering and not nearly as good as "Inside the Vault" but does touch on that big California score.
Yeah, Phil actually got Amil and his brothers pinched for their Laguna Nigel heist.
There was a TV show about the "Greatest Heists" and Laguna was #1 ;)

Phil likes to get people jammed up. Imagine having have to work into your 70’s as a iron worker , especially after making all those scores
Ironwork in his 70's? Jesus Christ, seriously?
I know some in their 70s. I'm in ironworkers union so I know handful of 70s, but quite a few more
in there 60s.
My Dad retired in his early 50s from Local 373. His shoulders and knees said 'enough'!
My father is 62 and he is still in the field. He owns the company he doesnt need to be. But, he is. He doesnt work winters no more though. But multiple cortisone shots, rotator cuff surgery, hip, leg, you name it its been worked on. He has to special boots/ shoes because one leg is slightly longer then other. I followed in his footsteps. I'm thinking about doing something else though. I just remember when I was kid he was always injured or hurt from work could never do nothin.

Skinny Sam was indicted in 2002 but died in 2004. He was released from prison in Kentucky on 11/22/2000.

And without Dorler's direct testimony, it would have been nearly impossible to get a conviction. But damn, that would have been a fun trial...
I doubt dorler knew anything but hearsay on the Naples hit . he was already doing life in prison by the time Naples was hit
Per SA Bob Kroner, Dorler's info was the most credible intel they got based on conversations with Skinny Sam Fossesca who was charged with the Joe DeRose Jr murder.
