You cannot be serious that Mexican businesses who can't get a loan from a bank accept loans from gangs in the Berwyn/Cicero area that work for the Outfit. Both are profiting immensely on taking advantage of the opportunity to make money off of them. Also only a naive person would believe that extortion doesn't exist when you have people who have come here that need protection in certain neighborhoods because the police won't help them if they called 911. You cannot trust the police in these neighborhoods do their job to protect you and what you have worked hard for.

Ever try to call the police to send a patrol vehicle to keep an eye on your place if you notice someone suspicious or you noticed someone broke into your store? Good luck with that living in a high crime area when you are on the bottom of their priority list!
First, Getting loans and being extorting are two different things. Outfit isn’t doing protection against gangs. These gangbangers on the street have no regard for anyone. Some know which businesses to stay away from.

Tank Valez was Puerto Rican not Mexican and was linked to grand Ave not Cicero. Hardly running things. He was Simon City at one time but linked up with the KP crew. He was small time.

On a second note, in regards to Mexican associates of the Outfit.....

Does a photo exist of Norberto Velez? The Tank? The one that supposedly was whacked in Wrigleyville by the Grand Ave crew?

Seems to me the Cicero crew is being ran by Mexicans now doing the heavy work? Not really sure what is going on. Would that be a justifiable statement that they have Mexicans working for them?
This is a serious question? Can you name ONE Mexican that is working for or “running” the Cicero crew or any crew for that matter? Extorting legit businesses is a thing of the past. Only businesses that are paying protection are the ones that are doing stuff illegal and even with that is risky.

Also paying for protection if you are running a business in Cicero or Berwyn would provide a need for many of these owners to be left alone and not worry about someone fucking with their business.

Ran by mexicans? No. Working with and hiring Latinos? For sure. Both Cicero and Grand Ave. have a long history of working with and also beefing with, mexican and puerto rican street gangs. PolackTony is very knowledgeable on this and has many great posts going into the history of white street gangs, mexican street gangs, etc, and their connections to the outfit. Given the geography of these crews and the businesses they participate in it's almost inevitable that those worlds would cross over. Also, Cicero, Berwyn, and that whole area is heavily latino now.
So I would imagine that extorting mexican owned businesses would be a big $$$ maker right now? Many of the people running them can't get loans from their local banks. Great business opportunity right there to make $$$ through extortion and loan sharking.

Coloboy wrote: Mon May 05, 2025 7:53 am From what I hear D&P is 100% legit these days, so this investigation is likely to come up with zilch. With that said, you can bet your ass that company was built on intimidation, backroom deals, and payoffs, so the fact that they are dealing with minor fallouts like this doesn't bother me in the least. They are making a ton of $$ elsewhere.
Like I said before the media will eat this up and write stories about it because of where and who the company originated from. 100% legit in 2025 and that's a fact.

A guy named TJ Lynch does heavy work for Cicero.
A bit embarrassed to say I was able to find the Lynch guy on FB. Weird world, but the guy fits the bill
Very old conversation (I was reviewing it for something else as I'm down with an injury and pretty bored) but anyway I missed this guy being named before, and went looking around and found him too.

He's from Berwyn (12th Street Players town), but what really stood out for me is that he has posted several pictures of himself hanging around the It's About Time lounge, which I believe is owned by Louis Rainone, so I'm assuming this is the guy in question. I am told by a good source that he "does collections" for Cicero FWIW.
