As bad as Amuso and Casso were for the Luccese family there weren't always in the wrong. I mean Pappadio was robbing the family wouldn't be suprised if someone like DiLapi was as well.
I thought the issue with Pappadio was him refusing to hand over his interests in the Garment District...D'Arco was robbing the family blind as acting boss but ran to the Feds before gettin the clip...
Both stories are hearsay
Do you care to elaborate Extortion?
Ok. Where is that info coming from that both of them robbed? Did Pappadio rob or did he just balk and was he right to bulk? How did darco rob?
Idk Pappadio was stealing but it's been said D'Arco was handing over lighter sums of money to Casso/Amuso than others were telling them they gave Al...
Pappadio was alleged to have been "hiding shops" and keeping a lot of business of record. When he was asked to turn in books he was called out for keeping two different sets of records. There was another Garment guy who got in the ear of Amuso and put Pappadio on the radar.
Even if it was true who wouldn't have done the same thing? These Bronx guys were older and entrenched in these pretty old school complex grift rackets that someone like Amuso who didn't come up doing garment center racketeering wouldn't fully understand. It'd be super tempting and easy to hold back money in that situation, especially if you resent the guys who took over the family, on top of it
