Calm down Ed. I'm just making a point that the mob is weak today and people like Franzese use it to their advantage to make whatever claim they want. You don't have to get nasty.

Franzese has lived in Southern California for like 25 years now. There is literally zero reason for anyone associated with any borgata to hurt him. In fact if I was running a crew and someone suggested it, I would seriously think about shelving or chasing them. It would be the height of stupidity. You’d have to be a total moron to suggest it.

Bonanno actually was a boss, for starters, and often got passes because he fought alongside Lucky to take down Masseria and Maranzano. He was one of the founding fathers so to speak. He was also out in Arizona with tumbleweeds blowing around him. Where does Franzese do his podcast from today? Probably Brooklyn. Probably in one of the same buildings he operated out of when he was active.

There's no doubt the mob is an absolute shell of its former self. But no, the reason guys can do these podcasts is because the mob is a business, and it makes no business sense to prevent Michael Franzese from doing a podcast.
lol. Yeah, the mob would have been totally cool with people doing radio shows back in the 80's and talking about their life. Franzese discusses the families by name, plenty of members by name. He'd disappear within days if he tried this in the 80's. He knows it's safe now.
Well there wasn’t Mass surveillance, intense strict laws or massive advancements in technology back then. The mob is a shell of its former self but it doesn’t make sense to stop Franzese the goal is to make money not kill some rat from the 80s

What they gonna kill him and get life and flip right after? It’s a different world society is safer
Exactly correct. This change is a reflection of the environment the mob is forced to operate in now.

I apologize but I have to laugh at this comic book view of the mob, wherein they should be pulling all stops to whack Franzese for misusing lingo in internet podcasts, a guy who isn't stopping one dollar from being made and isn't helping to put one guy in prison.

If the mob was as dumb as you think they should be they would have been defunct decades ago!
I think you missed my point entirely. The reason guys can do these podcasts is because the mob is a shell of its former self anymore.

Forgive me, but that strikes as an emotional response, and why the fuck would anyone FEEL anything that strongly about the guy just baffles me.

He wasnt a wanton killer, didnt rip off regular people, didnt push drugs, didnt ruin any neighborhoods. I read hes trying to start a nationwide pizza chain. He has real business acumen from what I can see. I mean, if he ratted on someone you know....ok.

Yall are too naive, all that Church stuff is just image makeover for him. Its spin, to satisfy the media and cops. Dudes a born hustler, that doesnt stop cause he quit the streets. Stop treating the guy like hes an ACTUAL Reverend or whatever, hes a Christian in Armani, lol. I'll never forget visiting a friend of mines home in high school. Huge place, I'm like, " Bro, yall slanging that good?". He said, " Nah, slinging that God.."
They are fuckin hustlers, this is facts.

It's just odd to me. I know hes a rat, but yall watch every rat channel anyway. And hes about the most classy and successful of all the rats. Arrilotta had a lot on the ball, but lower ranked and a lesser earner. Pennisi didnt have the rank or rackets, and really was embroiled in a lot of petty shit. Franzese has a kind of polish that I think will allow him to transition away from exclusively discussing crime. You see this as he expands his audience, interviewing an Ed O'Neal.

Understand guys, I've never felt even the slightest urge to watch Franzeses channel ONCE. Like..... for what? I read the book..... Same with Sammy......
An emotional response? 99% of what comes out of his mouth is lies, that's the issue. Don't dislike him because he ratted, I couldn't care less, I just can't see what's likeable about him. I don't watch all the rats videos like you say, probably watched a handful combined. It's the same with all of them, I gave that Jimmy Calandria one a go the other day and he was saying he pushed and threatened to kill gene gptti in jail lol, turned it straight off.
Damn, I did the EXACT SAME THING on the Calandra - Gotti thing. Ok, fair enough. I havent watched enough to catch the lies. So it's the blatant LIES then.....I can understand that.

Grouchy Sinatra wrote: Sat Jun 05, 2021 9:46 am The fact that he lets interviewers refer to him as a "boss" tells you everything. Gianni Russo calls himself a boss as well. This is insane. This is probably all the proof you need that the mob isn't what it used to be. Maybe it's just Sicilians now running everything super low key. The old Italian-American mob empire as we knew it must be just about defunct. If clowns like this can go around calling themselves bosses.

Because he wouldn't be lying about those things? He is perpetuating a lie when he allows casual observers to refer to him as a boss, however.

What does he lie about other than his convoluted definition of informant?
He allows interviewers to refer to him as a boss. Is that not at a minimum perpetuating a lie?
He has no control over buzzfeed or VladTV titling his videos as a mob boss. In all his interviews/videos he makes is crystal clear that he was a Capo with the Colombo's and that his boss was Junior.
