Gravano is deplorable, but the "they let him sell drugs to kids" thing is a little disingenuous, and is getting a little old. In the late 90s and early 2000s the rave scene and pressed ecstasy pills were fucking huge all over the country. His son was of age to be 'around' those type of scenes and got involved. Sammy, not wanting his son to get jerked around, but also seeing the potential and wanting to get in on the action and scale that action bigger like he was used to doing with everything - wedged himself into the business and commandeered his kid's friends. He fancies himself a leader so he'd be the type to find people to boss around no matter what he was doing.

He was bored and saw the potential for easy money. That's it. He wasn't historically a big drug dealer, and there wasn't a governmental conspiracy or coverup for a big master plan that had Sammy "going free so he could sell drugs to kids"

On top of that - kids going to parties and taking E pills back then knew exactly what they were doing. I'm not making excuses for Sammy but every time it's mentioned, it's framed as if him and Gerard were prowling the parks and schoolyards handing out drugs (a drug that isn't physically or really mentally addictive, either) to young children to rope them in.

He sold some ecstasy, got caught, and went to Florence Admax over it.

With that said - again - not making excuses for Sammy. I find him to be a degenerate, and more insufferable and gross with each story. When I read Underboss back in the day I got the exact opposite impression of him. Sounded like a class act when Underboss came out way back in the day. Now that he's out there speaking, I feel much differently.

I just watched that video last night Pmac...it was excellent...loved how he said the narrative of Junior Gotti not being liked by the old timers wasnt accurate...Said people like Louie Bracciole really liked Junior...I found it interesting how he kept close to Jojo's lawyer son in the casino to make the meeting seem legit🤔

Agreed. Sammy seems a desire to be the most honorable, most “cosa nostra” of them all. He craves to be respected/liked and to be seen as tough. The guy who always did things the right way, even when killing he killed honorably, even when ratting he ratted honorably. Was buddies with the FBI agents, the blacks, the aryans, the Irish, got along with everyone. He is full of shit.

That information came from a St. Louis drug dealer in the Witness Protection Program named George Taylor. When he testified before the Senate a lot of senators didn't believe his testimony. Joe Biden, for what it's worth, was one of them. He also contributed to an article about how protected witnesses lie. So maybe it's true, maybe it isn't. Perhaps Sammy will address it on his YouTube channel.

Regarding your main point, prosecutors regularly make deals with criminals to go after the kingpin. There's nothing unique about Gravano in this. The government's goal was to put Gotti in prison, and getting Gravano to testify against him was part of the plan, and it worked. Doesn't seem cowardly to me. Maybe the deal with Gravano was too generous. That I can get. Even with a less generous deal, I don't know if that would have prevented Gravano from selling drugs.

Found a great article on https://www.copvcia.com/free/ciadrugs/part_1.html which briefly mentions Sammy. Again the government are cowards for sending Gotti go for life and leaving Gravano to continue selling drugs to kids.

"While in the Unit, Lehder developed new drug smuggling plans for after his release. He talked of a new frontier in the former republics of the Soviet Union. He and [convicted Gambino crime family Capo Sammy the Bull] Gravano talked of forming a partnership in a new cartel using money given to them by our government. They asked me to join them and I turned them down.'
