Some more stuff I have on the Iannece brothers:
Vincent Iannece washed out the van that was used to dispose of Salvatore Testa’s body in 1984. He was originally charged with participation in that murder though he insisted he had no idea what the van had been used for and the charges were dropped.
On 13 March 1992, Iannece had dinner with James Diaddorio at Torano’s restaurant at 11th and Christian, with Diaddorio later shooting at manager Mario Ferrari, the son-in-law of Raymond Martorano.
Sergio Battaglia told authorities that Gaetano Scafidi had admitted plotting the murder of Diaddorio with Iannece, Merlino and Michael Ciancaglini, with Ciancaglini being the shooter.
It should be noted, however, that when Scafidi plead guilty to the Diaddorio murder he only implicated Ciancaglini, Merlino, Angelina, Borgesi and Lancellotti, saying that Angelina and Lancellotti were the shooters, with Borgesi being the getaway driver, while he (Scafidi) was a blocker.
In 1992, a Daily News article quoted the Iannece brothers’ mother Rose as saying, “My sons, they don’t want to wind up like their father”, while another source said that Vincent wanted to be in the mob, though it would break his mother’s heart.
In March 1994, Battaglia, Herbert Keller and John Casasanto met with Mazzone, Lancellotti and Iannece on Sansome Street and offered to kill John Stanfa for them because they were sick of the war.
In November 1994, Iannece and Michael Brennan were involved in a brawl with another unidentified man in a bar and were charged with assault. Iannece and Brennan posted $2,500 bail each and were released. Brennan was then found shot to death a month later. Investigators identified Iannece and Brennan as Merlino underlings and were pursuing information that Brennan was dating the sister of “a high-ranking member of the Merlino family”. Brennan was Gaeton Lucibello’s neighbour and warned him during the Stanfa war that “strange faces” were looking for him. Rosario Bellocchi testified that Brennan was an associate of Lucibello’s and participated in a 1993 planning session about killing members of the Merlino faction.
Charles Iannece Jr started working as a roofer and kept a low-profile following the attempted murder of the younger Nicky Scarfo. In December 2003, he was arrested after his girlfriend phoned the police to report that he had assaulted her following a heated argument. Detectives found $3,123, five handguns, a rifle, and seven grams of meth when they searched the couple’s apartment on 10th Street. Iannece was then charged with assault, gun, and drug charges.
