Peter Caprio was planning on being a shooter (the other one being associate Daniel D'Ambrosia) in his plot to kill Joe Ligambi, Steven Mazzone and George Borgesi in 2000.
In another Philadelphia hit that never materialised, Nicky Scarfo attended a meeting in 1981 where the intention, he believed, was for him to be killed (nothing happened because Scarfo's people were holding John Cappello as insurance). Those present at the meeting waiting for Scarfo were underboss Peter Casella, captain Frank Narducci, soldiers Anthony Casella and John Grande and associates Joseph Grande and Rocco Marinucci. Stands to reason that if Scarfo were to be killed at that meeting the above individuals would be the hit team. Peter Casella also recognised himself as the acting boss and Frank Narducci as the acting underboss at this time, but the rest of the family and New York did not.
It's also possible that Narducci was a captain by the time of the 1974 murder of Alvin Feldman (working on the assumption that Narducci took over Phil Testa's crew when he became underboss). Narducci stabbed Feldman to death in that hit.
Salvatore Testa might not have been the shooter in the Rocco Marinucci murder. The 1995 NJSCI report (structured around testimony provided by Phil Leonetti) had the hit team as Frank Narducci Jr, Salvatore Grande and Joseph Grande as the hit team with Testa in charge of planning the murder. Joseph Grande was identified as the shooter. However, in his book Leonetti later claimed that Testa was present for the murder and shot Marinucci himself.
Some other cases of Philly hierarchy members being involved in hits (excluding those discussed earlier in the thread):
Frank Monte (possibly by then a capo) was present for Frank Sindone's murder in 1980
Joseph Ciancaglini Sr (then a captain) was present and set John Calabrese up to be hit in 1981
Joseph Ciancaglini Jr (then the underboss) was the driver in the 1993 murder of Rod Colombo
Frank Martines (then the acting underboss) was a driver in the Frank Baldino hit in 1993
Luigi Tripodi (possibly by then a captain) was lined up to be on the scene for an ambush of Steve Mazzone that never happened
Steven Mazzone (then a captain) has been identified as participating in the 1996 disappearance of Michael Avicolli
Joseph Merlino (then the underboss) was the driver in the attempted murder of Anthony Milicia
