Anthony Lima told the FBI he became boss of SF in 1929 or 1930, which would make him 24 or 25.

Considering members could be made as young as 13 in Sicily and 17 in the US, there were likely some very young bosses especially in Sicily. Childhood didn't stretch into the teen years like it did later and boys quickly became men.

Capone was a johnny torrio protegè and after torrio survived to an attempt and he decided that Al is better as boss during a gangwar than him.
Capone and Merlino have more in common, first is that both have taken the power a mob war.
Ill repeat it again and PLS remember this before you continue spreading more bullshit.....Capone became boss of the Torrio gang at the age of 26, NOT the Chicago Mafia. Six years later, or at the age of 32 he became boss of the Chicago family and received a seat on the commission. So Capone became official boss of Chicagos CN at the age of 32, NOT 26

Prohibition gave them the capital and the unions gave them the power but they've always had the same organizational structure since the 1800's and its nothing like a big gang it's an international criminal conspiracy.

Steve LaTorre was in his early 20s when he allegedly led the PIttston Crime Family. Of course, whether or not Pittston was an independent crime family at the time is another matter.
