I completely understand it’s hard to bring up without the person thinking your calling him an informant. And if he’s giving you solid info you don’t wanna alienate him so I get it
I typed that on my phone and didn't realize what I wrote was autocorrected. I meant to write "That's the kind of question that doesn't lend itself to conversation." You understood my response anyways.
Yes for obvious reasons he was always very concerned about being labeled a ci. Have you talked to him recently? Haven’t seen him or fosco do anything in awhile

You know, I was thinking the same thing. It makes me wonder. The feds did have a hard on for Rainone for multiple reasons but it makes you wonder if Mags has a relationship with the Feds. I always said, if Rainone did not beef for that one second he did, he would be a top guy in the Outfit now. He’s worker
Thing is 15 years is mandatory for felon in possession of a gun so how did they just drop the charges when a witness saw him shooting and they found the gun on him. You are right about rainone the feds were pissed be flipped and went back so they will nail him anyway possible. But back to mags no one gets let off on felon in possession

It was Talarico that testified and was supposed to be the future.
I never heard Talarico was the future. I heard he tried to quit the outfit and Ronnie Jarrett beat the shit out of him and he changed his mind
Pete, I never heard that story. What year was this? Did you hear that he was acting 26th st boss after jimmy lapietra died in 1993? Not sure how true that was. I guess you can say he married into mob royalty when he married Nora Schweihs, who is a total nut job lol. Saw her working at VIPs/Crazy horse years ago. Last time I ran into her she was bartending at Sabatinos on Irving. Heard she is living in Florida now doing real estate
Not sure time frame Nick Calabrese talked about when he testified though

Didn’t the feds say Talarico was acting boss of the 26th street crew after Jimmy LaPietra died? Talarico testified during the family secrets trial and admitted being a bookie and admitted paying a percentage to Nick Calabrese. Wasn’t very damaging but just the fact he testified tells me he’s not boss quality.

Pete wrote: Mon Apr 27, 2020 6:11 pm He said in that interview with fosco he was shelved for not keeping up his responsibilites with Joey a andriacchi which meant not kicking up the money he was supposed to and then he lied about why he couldn’t kick up and was cut off. I’ll throw this out cuz it was asked even though I got blasted before for saying this before but fosco told me privately mags was made in 94 or 95 can’t remember which at spavones restaurant on lake street in bloomingdale. No other people were mentioned as being made at the same ceremony so I can’t speak to that. Seems to be the last or one of the last difronzo did as mags said shortly after difronzo stopped making guys and essentially deactivated the elm wood park crew
Good info Pete. My only question would be: What is the point of making Mike Mags if DiFronzo then deactivated the Elmwood Crew shortly thereafter?
I believe DiFronzo eventually deactived the Elmwood Park Crew, but it seems like it was in 2003 when Marcello got out of Jail. That would make more sense than him deactivating the Crew in say 1995. No?
No I agree. I think it was a gradual thing I didn’t mean to say it was deactivated right then. Difronzo over time pushed guys into legitimate stuff and mags couldn’t make that work so he ended up out. Besides the fact he stiffed Joey A who was acting boss, capo, whatever you wanna call him he was one the top 3 guys for awhile
