I think it's obvious that, for the most part, that if there has been guy made in the last 20 years that we don't know about, that keeps the Family alive, but if not their basically done.

That’s what interests me , if Outfit has the power to still tax the large bookmakers in Chi area. I think it’s pretty clear they have deliberately opted not to follow the NY / NJ large bookmaking operations with dozen of agents where everyone gets popped every 10+ years and chalked up as cost of doing biz.

I always wondered if Outfit chose the safe / stable cash flow route by taxing instead of running a vast booking operation that brings in less cash but also less heat.

The outfit is such an unknown but they always had huge loansharking operations and if we knew the size of that racket today we would have a better idea of their possible strength. As outside of their semi legit biz , what else is left w/ o poker, taxing and robbery scores
From what I know based on guys that run books the outfit does not tax them. My buddy has run a huge book for years and he told me they never even approached him

As for the mob in Chicago, Sallet said, “It is on fumes.” But organized crime is not off the FBI’s radar.
Let’s be honest this isn’t breaking news. The state drove the outfit out of their last money making businesses. They took over the slot machines when they legalized them which was huge for the outfit. Now they got sports. What’s left for these guys? Sure there are still neighborhoods like Chinatown where guys will still bet with their local bookie but it’s becoming less and less. The matassa case and marcello case are not even outfit cases just two old crooks trying to to work a scam that got busted. No evidence of any outfit influence besides their past history. Anyone that believes some websites that say the outfit has a boss underboss consigliere and multiple capos I got a bridge I can sell you. Delaurentis, inendino, D’Amico, pudgy, Pete difronzo, andriacchi are all effectively retired. You have maybe 10 active made guys left on the street would be my guess. Carusos, vena, cataudellas, Marino, ferriola, fratto, not much else out there. The “young guys” are in their 60’s
100% Correct. You just basically summarized what some of us have been saying about the status of the Outfit for awhile. "Reports", written by people selling books which give invented titles to a few remaining Outfit guys, are only done to market their product (which is the book).

I believe that there are some "products" of those same old companies which are still active in Chicago even today and are generally controlled by relatives

You'd think he'd have some operations in place or with someone ! He seems to just be out there floating around with nowhere to go
Like I said earlier, I don't think Outfit members would get into any illegal activities with Marcello since he ratted 10 years ago. Would he be on the shelf or would they take away his membership?? That is if he was a member. I don't think anything has ever come out about him being made. I think alot of people assume he was probably made by his brother. Has anything come out about M&M Amusement after the Marcello Bros went to prison?
I've heard nothing about M&M amusement ? Zero ! It seems everything out of Chicago has been coming out of Vena's crew , With all the So called eyeballing the Outfit with a Microscope from Jeffrey Sallet there's only minor isolated crap here n there
