And, Once a guy is kicking up that much he's expected to keep that amount going every month no matter what ! Vollaro probably said to himself, I'm not getting any reprieve here and this will only be worse once I'm inducted . your watching to many movies , I highly doubt this sap was proposed by corozo. stranger things have happened. if you make him then you cant abuse him anymore he was only required to pay if his company actually made money , the mob didnt even get money off this guy when a few of the ventures failed to earna profit. he was a good earner though if they made him would he still have to pay protection ? The mob made a killing when vollaro sold his concrete plant his dad was a bookie who paid protection and xmas money to the gambinos In the early 2010s, Bonanno ruling panel member Vinny Asaro considered inducting a crew member named Robert "Bam" Cotrone, but decided against it because it meant he wouldn't be able to bleed as much money from him. So yeah, I think being inducted gives you some sort of protection even against your own capo, especially if you can reach out to someone else in the family to start a beef.

But yea , Your right they were bleeding him and he was handing over money to Corrozzo left n right ! If we can find the info it should be in there . I even think he was telling his wife that he was being proposed at the time and it was caught on wire . But , Corrozzo did tell him at some point he was on record with him and the Gambinos and soon he was putting him up for induction I dont belive he was offically proposed thats my opininon that corozzo was simplying priming the pump. hey I could wrong my self , just a friendly back and forth . I guess only Little nicky knows if he was going to make/propose the guy for real or not

Between that attraction, and the access it brought, and his relationship with Nicholas Corozzo, a Gambino captain with whom he shared a prison cell in the 1990s, Mr. Vollaro became the sort of man whom Mr. Corrozzo spoke about inducting into the crime family, the investigators said. Some investigators speculated that Mr. Corozzo was simply stringing the trucking executive along, seeking to keep him — and his thriving business — near. But unknown to Mr. Corozzo at the time, Mr. Vollaro had already been netted in a drug sting by the State Organized Crime Task Force, and had agreed to become a government witness. He wore a hidden recording device and captured his conversations with a range of accused mobsters, including Mr. Corozzo, the investigators said. So it appears that it was actually the Task Force, federal prosecutors and the F.B.I. who were stringing Mr. Corozzo along, gauging his sincerity to try to determine whether he indeed intended to induct their informant into the family, a ceremony some among them were keen to record for posterity. But the decision was made at some point that the induction ceremony for the trusted earner was not in the offing, the investigators said, and on Thursday the authorities began their roundup of 62 accused mob figures and associates, along with union and construction company officials. The charges include murder, racketeering, construction extortion, loan-sharking, drug trafficking and a range of other alleged crimes.

Per the New York Times: Between that attraction, and the access it brought, and his relationship with Nicholas Corozzo, a Gambino captain with whom he shared a prison cell in the 1990s, Mr. Vollaro became the sort of man whom Mr. Corrozzo spoke about inducting into the crime family, the investigators said.
