Ill be honest, I think the discussion is sorta pointless. We only know about the Bonanno family’s younger members because they are under heavier police scrutiny at the moment. We have seen far fewer lower-level busts for the other four families, so their “average age” of active members is probably similar. If it wasn’t for the internecine Bonanno conflict, we would have no idea about a lot of these younger members, a lot of whom only surfaced during FBI intel about the internal 2015 conflict itself.
In recent years, the Bonannos have had two made members walking around on the street providing intel, and one of them was a captain. The Luccheses had a soldier provide intel but, as far as we know, the FBI have had a hard time cracking the other families as of late. If we had a Colombo capo and soldier cooperating in the vein of Peter Lovaglio and Tommy Carrube, we’d probably see a whole lot of younger, newer members that none of us had heard of.
What's up my brother Gohn, Yea in a way we dont know how many younger guys there are out there, I'd say between the ages of 25, Maybe a lil younger and the ages of 35-45 . Im just saying alot of the younger guys IMO are Bonannos followed by Colombos and Gambinos , But with the lack of steady leadership due to retirements, Deaths, Imprisonment, Constant surveillance, Confidential informants etc. Alot of guys aren't groomed correctly, Or at a very minimal amount, And alot of guys I think we're seeing have blood ties to members and are recruited due to that simple fact. Younger guys from the 5 boroughs no matter how tough or strong with earning abilities are way less likely to be approached by any mob guys and told, Your with me/Us now, Nobody really needs pr wants to, Or has to have protection these days from other criminals, Gangs, Crews etc...like it was in the 70s 80s and 90s.Even slot of the Italian kids in the neighborhoods have little idea what the mob is, Who they are how they operate, They have Zero influence in the streets or are not even visible. They pretty much are only visible to an extent on the street in small pocket areas in Bk, Queens,Bronx etc..That's why the Families, Certain crews members and associates contract work out to street gangs, Things like Mirder, Financing drug deals/Dealing which we've seen has not ended up so well ! Also, The younger Italian kids/Guys are in Gangs,Or want to be affiliated with gangs
