A New York City restaurant consultant whose stepfather reputedly is a figure in organized crime cannot be allowed to service a Pennsylvania casino, a Commonwealth Court panel has concluded. That decisions sinks Sonic Service Inc.’s deal with the Parx Casino, even though the firm’s sole owner, Michael Giammarino, insists he has disassociated from his relative and didn’t even know he was involved with the Mafia.

There was a video of his testimony posted here I think. He went out of his way to honestly try to clear his name, he even openly and without pressure acknowledged the 2 Philly guys who approached him, and how he told both no. That committee had it's decision made before he even was called. HIs mother married years Brescio after he left home, and he pretty much showed his dislike for for Brescio, He's clean, but it won't matter. Look at the comment section, people have it as if he was laundering money or a wiseguy himself. Michael Giammarino is not a like-able man (I have eaten in his place) but he appears very clean of mob affiliation. Brescio seems like wiseguy, but who knows. I never believed him to be a captain. Giammarino can't help who his mother married years after his fathers death, but he is getting screwed for giving Brescio his job there.

I agree with your point Bert..... they had their decision made long before he even testified.... “guilt by association”!..... it’s a killer and un-defendable.

Yep not defensible . Usually this would piss me off (today) if the guy didn’t have a record but the Genovese are that 1 outfit that could legitimately get in on the sneak and then figure out a new or a multiple of new rackets ( quasi legit or not ) without anyone barely noticing they were even there lol

The guy testifying (Giammarino has no record, I am not sure if you meant he did, my mistake if you didn't. Brescio has a record, but the guy testifying explained his relationship to Brescio was though his mother, and Brescio would not be involved with further operations. Plus he even gave the names of the two Philly guys who approached him, and backed the Committees finding on his being approached. As for Brescio, his record is from over 30 years ago, and he has been clean since.

Yeah Tommy, the guy testifying has no record and was never even on the FBI or any other LE groups radar till he took over Lombardi's. As he said, he never knew Brescio till the guy married his mother. Brescio has a record, the committee mentions it, but leave out it is from over 30 years ago.

What bothers me is the guy listens to all the talk of Brescio having a record, and of Philly guys approaching him. He then fights to clear his name, tesitfying with no immunity, and openly. He says what they sid is true, and explains why. The guy is fighting for his business life. The committee does not address his testimony, instead they repeat the same stuff they said the first time!
Then those political appointees on the board say his request is denied
