Does anyone have any information on Frank Salerno (b. 1951/52). Lucchese associate arrested in 1993 as part of an illegal dumping scam? He lived in Tuckahoe, Crestwood, and as of 2012, Yonkers. I believe this is "SKinny Frank" Salerno, named as a member of the Purple Gang in the early 70s and indicted for the September 1971 murder of Anthony Lombardi, son-in-law of Louis "The Whale" Inglese. Charges in the Lombardi murder were dropped and he kinda falls off the radar, at least from what I've been able to find.
His cousin, also implicated in the Lombardi murder, was also named Frank Salerno and was also about the same age (b. 1951/1952). He went by Frankie Boy Salerno and lived in East Harlem. He's NOT the Frankie Boy Salerno of the Bonanno family. The Bonnano Frankie Boy is the nephew of Michael Mancuso, who used to be a Purple Gang member.
Confused yet??

Not that it really matters, but Crestwood is in Yonkers.

Any chance he's related to former Lucchese Bronx based Capo, Mike Salerno? I know the last name is as common as 'Smith' but wouldn't be a stretch to see if there's a connection there

Sorry, can't edit my post but matter of fact, D'Arco mentions Frank Salerno as being Mike Salerno's nephew in his book. When Mike Salerno was supposedly "banging down" the Delaware Valley area illegal dumping sight, and D'Arco was instructed to investigate and see what was going on over there, he allegedly had to physically throw Frank Salerno off of the job site.
Check out D'Arco's book, specifically the Matamoros chapter. He mentions Frank a few times in there. Nothing crazy other than it's Big Mike's nephew
