I have always thought it was odd that no members of the Scarfo Mob attended Salvie's Wake or Funeral. You would think that Scarfo would want to attend with his guys to throw off LE or at least in respect in some sort of way even though they hit him. There is a bit in the article below where Salvie's sister testified that mob members attended both Testa's parents wake's but not Salvie. Also Scarfo was a no show at Monte's wake as well. When LCN members attend the wake's of their victims...is it a move of respect, to intimidate the victims family or to throw off LE? When they are a no show...?
Some different point of views on this are welcome.
"testimony earlier this week, when Maria Testa Muzio, Salvatore Testa's sister, took the stand. She said none of the defendants attended her brother's funeral, though they had all been at the funerals of both of her parents."

Re: Salvie Testa's Wake
I think they skipped the Monte funeral because the Riccobene guy's were gunning for them at that point. Monte was taken out via a snipers rifle out on the street and they probably didn't want to risk it.

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.
Re: Salvie Testa's Wake
They didn't attend Salvie's wake out of disrespect. At that point Scarfo didn't care that everyone knew he was responsible. Remember they also had a big party the night of the murder to celebrate his death.
Scarfo loved Frank Monte and as Pogo said, it was a practical reason as the Riccobene hit squads likely had the funeral staked out. The Scarfo group had planned to stake out funerals themselves and Mario Riccobene Jr. was almost killed at one. One of the reasons Pat Spirito was killed is because Ciancaglini had Mario all set up to be hit in a similar fashion to the Johnny Calabrese hit, but Spirito balked at the idea of doing the hit.
