New Jersey report on scrap metal, pawn shop business

Post by Wiseguy »

A new report by the State of New Jersey Commission of Investigation entitled CORRUPT COMMERCE: Heroin, Thievery and the Underground Trade in Stolen Goods. Covers the scrap metal and pawn shop businesses.

Some mob members and associates are mentioned in the report, including Richard Santaniello who was involved in a mob healthcare scam and now runs Klein Recycling where he has had Philadelphia LCN members Lou Fazzini and Nicky Olivieri on his payroll for years.

Also mentioned is Michael Kiszka, owner of Money Mike's, a cash-for-gold store that has served as an occasional hangout for mob affiliates. Kiszka's former business partner was Genovese associate Ralph Pio, who was charged in the 2003 Ludwig Bruschi indictment. Kiszka is also said to associate with Alesio Politi and Jerome DiGiovanni, known loansharks. Politi's father was a reputed Genovese associate and Politi himself is said to be close with members of the Lucchese family.
