I've heard a lot of people calling mobsters informants on these boards lately , deccico , lombardozzi , dellacroce and now accardo and there is no evidence to suggest they were CIs

DeCicco you can at least point to something resembling evidence. Anyone who is or was able to avoid conviction for a number of years, such as Accardo or DiFronzo, is going to eventually have the informant label tossed their way.

Actually, I think it's a legitimate topic, although I see how it could lead down a few paths which could only end in arguing. Maybe this can be merged with the DeCicco thread into one, giant catch-all, "high-level confidential informant" thread.

At any rate, there was an entire article in the Informer e-zine about Ralph Pierce being "Sporting Goods." I don't think Antilliar wrote it, but he may have been the one to mention it to me.

Well, it's not Accardo. "Sporting Goods" cooperated with Roemer for "ten years" according to him. Roemer left Chicago in the late seventies and not long after, the source died. Accardo did not die until 1992. It has to be Ralph Pierce.

I'm with Snakes on this one. Bill Roemer was a slightly questionable character himself, but that's besides the point, he isn't the one saying Accardo was a CI. And I simply personally do not believe Accardo was an informant . Because several people says something to another , it doesn't at all make it true.
