Seized explosives were meant to kill Naples prosecutor - State witness

(ANSA) - Bari, May 11 - A stash of TNT seized days ago in the province of the southern city of Bari was intended for an attempt to kill Naples prosecutor Giovanni Colangelo, a person close to Puglia's Sacra Corona Unita who turned state witness had said, according to sources. The State witness is originally from the Naples area and, while in prison at the end of 2015, he got to know some members of Campania's Camorra mafia who told him about plans to attack the magistrate.
The probe stemming from the witness's testimony led to the seizure of the explosives hidden under a tree on the estate of a mobster and arms trafficker, Amilcare Monti Condesnitt, at Gioia del Colle, near Bari. The attack was meant to take place at Gioia del Colle, where Colangelo lives, the witness said, after mobsters studied his movements between Puglia and Campania. Sources said Colangelo's security detail has been beefed up.

I read a little about the Sacra, they same remarkably similar codes and ranks and style with the 'ndrangheta. When they formed, some 150 'ndranghetisti witnessed and sanctioned it. Some Naples Camorristi attended as well.

Interesting how all these mafie interconnect.

There is a 2007 movie called Fine Pena: Mai aka End of Sentence: Never that is based on the real life of Antonio Perrone an apulian gangster from the 70s until 1992 when his organization was disbanded and Perrore get 49 y.
In the movie also called Paradise Lost because before the 1970s the salento was quite zone before in the last 70s come the NCO of Cutolo that created a sister organization the nuova camorra pugliese and in the 80s the ndranghetantisti created the sacra corona unita.

Fascinating. I know fuck all about the Sacra Corona. IIRC, Raffaelle Cutolo had a hand in their formation, which would indicate a an "alliance"with certain Camorra cells. They're from Puglia (Apulia) and maintain links to Siclian, Calabrian and Napolitan cells/crews, but also engage in "traditional" rackets (bootlegging, buttleging, the pizzo/extortion and bookmaing. That's the span of my knowledge, I'm going to have to read up on the "organization".

I'm completely in the dark in regard to the 'ndrine attending this meeting. 150 nis large number. I remember some sort of making ceremony that named the 'several
'ndrine attending the meeting in a prison cell. There was a guy who claimed a Boss title of the organization.

Sorry for the rambling. Any awesome sauce/source for the large contingent of 'Ndranghisti at the meeting?

It was covered in Dickie's Mafia Republic, I'll find the passage and post it later.
