No opinion on anything Dallas/LCN related but nothing in that article says there’s active ties to LCN or the mafia. They reference:
- his grandfather’s “alleged” mafia links
- David Campisi, the current owner regretting that he has not played up past mafia ties
- allegations of being a illegal bookie of what seems to be a large gambling enterprise
- part of that illegal gambling business was based out of Costa Rica and they linked Campisi’s phone to different numbers based on Costa Rica

When Joe Campisi died, the Dallas Mafia died.
Small tidbit- when Vincent LoScalzo took over Tampa after Santo Jr died, he flew to Texas and met with Joe Campisi to 'introduce' himself.

I know nothing of Texas organized crime. But I remember reading a while back that Vinny “Ocean” Palermo from New Jerseys Decavalcante Family was living under a new identity in Houston I believe. I guess he got outed on some new station and had to move. He owned a few strip clubs under his sons name and lived in a multi million dollar home. Witsec must have upped the cost of living. Lol.

What do you mean upped the cost of living? As in they pay the rats more money?

Vinny Ocean could make money selling ice to Eskimos, he’ll make a fantastic living anywhere he goes.
Re: Campisi mob currently active in Dallas
When does a family stop being a family? When they stop murdering people? Cause bookmaking is and was a staple of organized crime and clearly they’re involved in that and probably have a structure since multiple people are involved in these crimes and they use the clout of “the family” to be able to collect these millions of dollars in bets. Bookmaking is only lucrative if those that bet not only lose but lose graciously and sometimes graciousness has to be forced…

Just throwing out some food for thought and to stimulate this thread
Re: Campisi mob currently active in Dallas
Witsec didn't pay for that. He was an acting boss before he flipped. He likely got to keep some of his millions after he testified as part of his agreement. I think he even got in trouble with the feds for not telling them about some of the money he had stashed away.Tocco686 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 03, 2025 8:34 am I know nothing of Texas organized crime. Here's pictures of the house Palermo lived in. It's on a busy street filled with million dollar homes. Close to the Galleria in Houston. Nice area.
He owned a strip club or two, a Tex-Mex restaurant, and a car wash. All next to each other.
I believe he still lives in the Houston area, but I'm not 100% on that.

When the last made member dies, which as Scott D mentioned, was when Joe Campisi died in 1989. You'd be more likely to see the Mavericks make the Finals this year than to find out there's still an active mob family in Dallas.7digits wrote: ↑Tue Mar 04, 2025 9:58 pm When does a family stop being a family? Re: Campisi mob currently active in Dallas
Wasn’t there some Campisi’s in Dallas that got in trouble for narcotics traffic in the early 2000s or late 90s? I believe they were using some of the Campisi’s restaurant to do it. Anyone know?

Fire up the smoker and get that brisket ready.
