FBI still follows some of them around - what intel they are actually gathering other than a couple of pictures. I don't know what NEW types of Bugs they are using or how they are recording conversations. It seems like they just talk to people and some of them are inadvertently giving some low level intel that way.

A lot of the independents in Chicago will still lay off to the Outfit and pay rights for that - its less 'Pay, Quit or Die" and more "Pay and take advantage of our infrastructure and make more money." They also plug in independents at some of the OTB parlors they own.Pete wrote: ↑Fri Oct 25, 2019 3:07 pm The outfit will not be gone by 2025. There are younger active members. Another 15 years? Possibly but they still
Have a strong presence in a few neighborhoods things are just different. I have a buddy who has run a huge independent book for years and no one from the outfit has ever tried to shake him down but being in the same business he rubs shoulders with some of them. They don’t seem to shake independents down anymore like the old days cuz it brings too much heat

I wouldn’t say no structure I just don’t believe the websites that say they have a boss underboss consigliere (especially since they never had such a position) and multiple capos. Also find it hard to believe Rudy Fratto is boss of elm wood park when all the info I have read says difronzo deactivated that crew 20 years ago. Being around that neighborhood I’ve never seen Rudy there. Most active guys in that neighborhood seem to be Tony dote and Nicky cataudella for whatever that’s worth. I think it’s more likely that there are a few capos that run their crews somewhat independently. Spent a lot of time in island lake and solly d sure doesn’t seem like any mob boss. Always working his legit job or with his grandkids. Again all outside observations so make of it what you willFughedaboutit wrote: ↑Fri Oct 25, 2019 4:30 pmIf not Solly D then who? Nobody? Just made guys with no structure now ?

Also for whatever it’s worth Dino Marino and Nicky ferriola seem to be major players

I would say your observations make a lot of sense instead of a bunch of gross exaggerations from some people who wish the Outfit was like it was 40 years ago. I thought Nick Cataudella was with Cicero? Also, like you, everything I ever read or researched indicated that DiFronzo backed far away along time ago and he had nothing but disdain for Fratto. Solly D. would have to be completely out of his mind to be the Boss of whatever is left of the dying Outfit. It does seem like a couple of those small Crews left operate independently. There really isn't much to talk about concerning the Outfit in 2019.Pete wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2019 9:09 pmI wouldn’t say no structure I just don’t believe the websites that say they have a boss underboss consigliere (especially since they never had such a position) and multiple capos. Nick Cataudella is in the Cicero crew but lives in Chicago just over the border from elmwood park. Therefore you see him around a lot just doing normal things getting dinner etc doesn’t mean anything outfit relatedConfederate wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2019 9:45 pmI would say your observations make a lot of sense instead of a bunch of gross exaggerations from some people who wish the Outfit was like it was 40 years ago. Re: Joey the Clown Lombardo dead at 90
Guys this is my first post here and I'm not trying to derail the convo you're having but there's something I've been curious about for a while and maybe you mob buffs have some insight. Does anyone know why Lombardo and Marcello were locked up in the supermax? To my knowledge the only mob guys to get locked up there are Casso, Gravano and Basciano. Guys that the Feds really had a grudge against.
It just seems weird that they had Lombardo in there at the age of 90 and Marcello to this day in his 70s. Especially when you consider that Vic Amuso is cooling his heels in an FCI when not only was he convicted of more murders than these guys, but informants over the last couple decades have given information and testimony that he continues to call shots for his crime family from behind bars. Have Lombardo and Marcello ever been caught giving orders to the street? Or do the Feds just have a hard-on for the Outfit in general?

They really wanted to make Lombardo an example and they definitely had the "Grind" on him.Hired_Goonz wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2019 11:16 am Guys this is my first post here and I'm not trying to derail the convo you're having but there's something I've been curious about for a while and maybe you mob buffs have some insight. My thought is it might be a measure taken to insure the safety of the Seifort family members and others like Spilotro daughter. Seeing the Outfit did try to get to Nick Calabrese through Ambrose. Just a thought. The Amuso comparison is correct, but life is unfair.Hired_Goonz wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2019 11:16 am Guys this is my first post here and I'm not trying to derail the convo you're having but there's something I've been curious about for a while and maybe you mob buffs have some insight. Re: Joey the Clown Lombardo dead at 90
Thanks guys, maybe another motivation is that Lombardo was convicted of murdering a federal witness? I can't understand why they have Marcello locked up 23 hours a day like that with terrorists and violent cons though. Not gonna shed any tears for these career criminals just find it rather curious.

In addition, I can't remember who said it, but someone was quoted as saying Lombardo "helped fill up a cemetery or two". Something to that effect.Fughedaboutit wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2019 5:50 pm I mean he took out an ad mocking the feds saying call the FBI if u see him committing crimes, and shotgunned seiftert in front of his family..he deserved it as much as anyone. Yes, you're right! Thanks. That was the Cop or ex Cop that was close to Giancana and was involved in delivering money to different Outfit Bosses from the Willow Springs racket.Antiliar wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2019 8:20 pmThat was Michael CorbittConfederate wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2019 5:53 pmIn addition, I can't remember who said it, but someone was quoted as saying Lombardo "helped fill up a cemetery or two". Yes, didn't Corbitt say that Lombardo didn't like him because he was a cop .Confederate wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2019 9:08 pmYes, you're right! Thanks.
