....in addition, before I post more info on various non-Italian bosses, I want to say this...
As I can see from my personal point of view, that most of us on this forum posses the knowledge about numerous criminal organizations, especially the AMERICAN Mafia.
Some of "us" believe the words of researchers who are known world wide, while others make our own opinions (obviously backed by evidences) and create good forums such as this one. Theres also one small group of people or "internet clans", who are also quite influential, but sadly they keep on selling the same old mainstream historical and criminal culture their whole lives, which is based ONLY on Italian/Sicilian (European) Cosa Nostra knowledge.
This is probably because most of the crime authors are interested in selling books to people who dont know anything about the subject, and also making views on Youtube (which is the same thing), instead of showing us the real faces and picture of the AMERICAN Mafia.
Because of this mainstream "Italian Mafia propaganda", many people are blinded even to the reality of the existence of these real criminals behind the scenes, who caused the massive criminality and belonged to those same organizations by having their own positions in the organizational structure.
The basic problem in this case is that most of "us" started with the hunger for knowledge regarding the formal structure and function of the traditional Italian families and so any beginner would accept every possible information which is given by these types of researchers, without questioning.
But dont forget, the most beautiful part of "growing up" in this so-called Mob-research is the realization that reality is far divorced from the official story which was drilled into our heads by every day "myths" regarding the AMERICAN Cosa Nostra, mixed with alleged rules from the EUROPEAN Cosa Nostra.
As we can see from my previous and numerous posts in this thread, some of the American crime families, especially the Chicago Outfit operated outside the bounds of the so-called "Italian" or "European" rules and formalities during certain and also long time periods.
Cheers and stay tuned.

Re: Non-Italians and the Chicago Outfit
Some of us know that two of Alex's sisters were married to Italian individuals, like the Prignano and Glimco families.
(Al Prignano was later killed by the Outfit)
One of Alex's sisters was married to Frank Glimco, who in turn was the brother of Italian Outfit member Joey Glimco from the West Side group.
This means that the Alex family intermarried with the "criminally connected" Italians, like a real "Mafia" family.
According to some sources, Joey Glimco allegedly learned a lot regarding the union business and racketeering from both Humphreys and Alex and even though Glimco was highly respected member of the Outfit's leading Italian group, still he was somehow subordinate to the non-Italian leaders.
In fact, Humphreys referred to Glimco as the "cab driver" because Glimco was known for controlling the Taxi Drivers' Union.
So heres one quite interesting conversation in which we can see that in 1962 Glimco's brother Frank was present on a dinner at Alex's apartment, and Alex's wife Suzanne Fueger was also present. Frank bragged about meeting former President Truman...
In the next conversation from the following day between Alex and his wife, we can see that the non-Italian Outfit leader changed his opinion (on positive) about the current (at the time) President Jack Kennedy, while the rest of the U.S. Mob still hated the guy...
