Is there confirmation that he's still alive? He'd be 79 or 80? When he testified against Rom, he seemed to be on borrowed time. He's not just insanely overweight, but also seems pissed off at the world, paranoid, greedy -- a total cancer. I don't think he'd be too charismatic -- but maybe that's just because he's been a reluncant informant so far.

if he didnt kill the guy george in 99 i think he would have gotten a good plea deal like 15 20 yrs and would be a free man today and still a boss. he didnt have to kill the guy. that was his downfall

His hole family flipped on him
Pretty much every capo flipped
It didn’t even matter bout George in the judicial sense he was cooked from the start
Politically George’s murder might’ve been the worst decision he could have made
HANG IT UP NICKY. ITS TIME TO GO HOME.
Re: Questions for Massino that Scott could ask..
George was the death penalty. But your rite company flips then cantrella who brought down Vitale for the new paper guy murder. Ya Vitale not doing life so he was gonna flip. I just think maybe massinos lawyers could have gotten him a shot at light but with massino ordering Vitale to kill a guy in 1999 there no letting him plead guilty in 2004. All those old murders from the 80ty he probably could have got 15 20 because he wasn't the boss and that could be his defense

The Bonnano's have/had a guy operating in Chicago? I didn't think NY/Chicago had much interaction beyond Aiuppa visiting in the 90's.

Bonanno soldier Vincent "Elmo" Amarante was running a strip club there back in the 1990s and he was busted in 2000 for keeping a house of prostitution.Lefty Ruggiero wrote: ↑Wed Jun 01, 2022 1:38 pm The Bonnano's have/had a guy operating in Chicago? Gotcha thanks!
Re: Questions for Massino that Scott could ask..
Dom Cicale said Massino "ordered" Vito Rizzuto to open a strip club in Canada after the Sciascia murder. If there's any truth to this I question whether it was an "order" or just a mutual business interest, but it does bring to mind the Bonanno member opening a strip club in Chicago during the same period.
Be interesting if the Bonanno Family was consciously trying to open remote strip clubs in the 1990s/2000s but it doesn't make much sense.

Just speculation, but maybe there was more to these strip clubs than we might assume. Perhaps they were nodes for a narcotics distribution network, for example. I’ve wondered if that was part of the context for the still-mysterious Elmo Amarante thing.B. wrote: ↑Wed Jun 01, 2022 2:50 pm Dom Cicale said Massino "ordered" Vito Rizzuto to open a strip club in Canada after the Sciascia murder. So do we know if he has a Massino interview yet?
Re: Questions for Massino that Scott could ask..
Yeah if the Montreal thing is true it seems strange the Bonanno would set up strip clubs in Canada and Chicago during the same period unless there was some purpose. Cicale tried to give the impression Massino was testing Rizzuto's loyalty but if his general info is accurate I don't know how he'd know the motivation.PolackTony wrote: ↑Wed Jun 01, 2022 4:25 pmJust speculation, but maybe there was more to these strip clubs than we might assume. Antimafia recently said Massino was uncooperative with Canadian authorities so if it did happen I'm not sure what if anything he'd say about the Canadian angle. It'd be nice to know how they approached the Chicago club under Amarante since we can confirm that one. I have difficulty believing anyone was ordered to open strip clubs but if the intention was to facilitate prostitution or drugs maybe they wanted to stay away from the NY area. However I can't imagine Amarante went to Chicago without some existing connection.
