100%. But proof he is dead, will negate any claim that he was feed bad information from someone. Anyone in the know would know he is dead. Making it pretty hard to argue he didn't make it up.

I just thought it was nuts that a capo could die and go unnoticed completely by everyone except for one guy on this forum for a year so I looked into it a bit. I can't find anything, but that doesn't mean he isn't dead.

Something like this has happened before, everyone on here thought Peter Castellana was still alive until I looked into it and found that he had been dead for like a year. He wasn't a capo though. A capo croaking with almost no one noticing or updating the Lucchese chart for a year is pretty wild!

I’m also not arguing that Skinny Frank Salerno is necessarily not dead, but I’ve looked into this as well and have found no evidence that he has died. There is no obituary or any other notice that any Frank Salerno of his age and residence (Tuckahoe/Crestwood) has died in the last several years. Only one that I found was a guy in 2020 who was 20+ years older than this Frank Salerno. It’s possible that an obituary was never done for him, but in my experience this would be pretty unusual. If he has indeed died, there should be some notice. He is a high profile enough figure also that I would think that Capeci would have been aware of his passing, but who knows.

That's exactly my thinking. I looked for all the same stuff you're talking about here, even using targeted boolean operator searches incorporating terms like "in memoriam" and "in loving memory" (and of course hit up Pennisi ). Can't find anything, and a dead capo escaping notice is nuts.

But hey it's not impossible I guess. I shall duly credit and congratulate the chap who posted this claim for his contribution if it's proven accurate.

Even if it is proven inaccurate the fact scott went to the lengths of deleting the post speaks volumes. His silence here speaks volumes. He is always quick to defend and be an arrogant prick to anyone who doubts his so called fucken sources. Be here we are fucken crickets.
