Re: Gambino crew in Cleveland a la Burnstein
Okay, parsing the article, Scott says Agnello was made a captain in the 90s, yet he doesnt specify Agnello’s current rank.furiofromnaples wrote: ↑Sun Jul 21, 2024 4:14 am Reputed NY-based Gambino Mobster Carmine Agnello Allegedly Met With Cleveland Family's Joe Iacobacci & R.J. Papalardo Prior To His Introduction To The Ohio Mafia Scene (from The Gangster Report)
--Per SBs 'exclusive' sources and reporting (which apparently includes informants), upon his relocation to Cleveland, OH in the 2000s, alleged Gambino mobster Carmine (The Bull) Agnello met with then Cleveland mob leadership, including Russell (R.J.) Papalardo & Joseph (Joe Loose) Iacobacci. Described as a 'sit down' by SB, the group met-up on Cleveland’s East Side in early 2009, where the framework for Agnello’s move and his plans to operate in Northeast Ohio were hashed out.
--At that point, Agnello had been recently released from prison after serving nearly 10 years for racketeering charges (notably, he had just married for a second time, having been formerly married to Victoria Gotti). Longtime Cleveland gangster, Ralph Bucci, allegedly made the introduction between Agnello/the Gambinos & Papalardo/Iacobacci. With the blessing of Papalardo/Iacobacci from this sit down, Agnello initiated a number of rackets while still kicking up to the Gambinos. Per SBs reporting, Agnello's operations in the Cleveland region include rackets linked to the scrap-iron business, stock trade, and car theft. In fact, in 2015, Agnello was arrested and charged with running something of a chop-shop operation, stealing cars for the acquisition of scrap metal to re-sell. Around 2017, Agnello pled out to those charges, paying a fine, but serving no prison time.
--Per SBs sources 'on both sides of the law', Agnello reputedly is still functioning in the Cleveland area, operating out of Eagle Auto Parts (on E 116th Street) and reporting to Lenny DiMaria, who he travels to meet with in NYC a few times/year. Per SBs further reporting and sources, Agnello was reputedly elevated to a captain's position in the 1990s as a result of his relationship to Victoria Gotti & SB further notes that a portion of Agnello’s crew went with him to Ohio at the time of his initial move, although some of these gents (unnamed) have returned to NY over the years.
--Finally, SB wraps up by summarizing the current state of the Cleveland mafia. He describes the aforementioned Papalardo (currently aged 83) as the 'titular' boss and further that the Cleveland operation currently consists of a minor group of 'old-school bookies, loan sharks and drug dealers' who are largely dependent on other midwestern OC groups, such as the Chicago Outfit & the Detroit family, to remain functional (SB notes that his reporting on Cleveland's status is per his sources as well as some Federal intelligence documents). SB notes that 'Joe Loose' Iacobacci died at 70 years of age in 6/2020 and allegedly handed things over to Papalardo years before, when he assumed the 'titular' boss role.
So, I don’t believe Scott is necessarily saying that Agnello is currently a captain operating from Cleveland, though Scott leaves out Agnello’s current membership position. He also doesn’t mention if Agnello has any other Gambino members operating under or with him in Ceveland.
Based on the article, it’s entirely plausible that Agnello would’ve asked for permission to move to Cleveland in the early 2000s. Then, it’s possible Agnello was shelved when the Gottis lost power. Afterwards, it’s possible Agnello was taken of the shelf but as a member and not as a captain later by the new admin, perhaps after the 2015 bust since it was shown that he was still making money.
It’s possible that Agnello is an ex-capo and current soldier who is the only Gambino member operating in Cleveland.
I’m not saying I agree that all of this is what’s happening, I’m just trying to look objectively at what Scott wrote. If I disagreed with Scott, I would say so.

Without getting into whether the current Scotticles are correct with regard to Agnello's present-day position, this detail in particular impressed me. To get access to Loose you had to talk to Bucci first, he was like a buffer you had to get past before you could talk to the "boss" of the Two-Man Mafia. This is something my friend I mentioned before and I have known about for some time and neither of us has talked to Scott about it.
Anyway, that particular detail had the "ring of truth" at least.

If there are remnants still going in Cleveland he would be at the center of it. (Papalardo is totally inactive from crime from what I understand.)

I not only believe this to be possible but to be reality.
Some people see the words ‘Gambino crew’ and automatically think of a captain with a crew of soldiers but it can also mean a soldier and some associates which is the likely scenario in Cleveland.
Assuming Agnello isn’t shelved protocol says he had to meet with the Cleveland guys when he moved there. Again if he’s not on the shelf and committing crimes which we know he is he has to kick up. All basic mafia principles.
Btw there is literally zero evidence he’s been shelved.

Still around. He's the director of this: https://www.minutemenmco.com/
https://www.linkedin.com/in/john-oliverio-07118a127/
Works for Sam Lucarelli's son. That's the same Minute Men thing that keeps popping up when you look into what the Cleveland Mafia has turned into as the people around it mostly went semi-legit. He's also into union stuff.
Oliverio, RJP, Bucci, and Ronald Lucarelli Jr. are the only guys from those old fake Cleveland charts that used to float around who are still alive. Everyone's dead or really old now. Papalardo is (probably) the only made guy still alive and he's a rich old man who's enjoying his golden years and never does anything straightup illegal. I'm told that RJP still gets a piece of MInute Men.
I should probably try to summon stroccos to give us the straight dope on all this shit.

I highly doubt it as none of those guys were ever confirmed as made but if anyone besides Loose and RJP were made in the 21st century Cleveland underworld it would be him. I'm told he actually had a crew of guys under him, so it's possible I guess.

It was reported that Loose made guys in several outlets no?
But if Agnello needed to talk to Papalardo wouldn't Bucci have to be made to make that introduction or as an associate he might of been able to.

That thing about Loose making people was totally made-up internet silliness. There's literally no real evidence for it AFAIK. Those charts floating around were real associates under Loose listed as "made", they were all fake.Newyorkempire wrote: ↑Sun Jul 21, 2024 9:00 pm It was reported that Loose made guys in several outlets no?

Weird as it sounds, best evidence suggests that Loose and RJP just cruised along as a two-man mafia for ~30 years. Loose would have been the "boss" and RJP the "underboss" if the meeting Scott describes actually took place in 2009.
I have Bucci as a high-ranking associate until I see good evidence saying otherwise.

I mean, I used to go to Gary on the train when I didn’t even have a car. Can you imagine that? Chicago has direct mass transit from the Loop to the moon!
As matter of fact, I’ll also stop driving from the Bronx to Union County, NJ, to visit my close friends and family who live there, as I have for many years. I mean, that must be like taking a rocket to Mars. Shit, before I had a car I actually used to go out there on NJ Transit. I guess that’s like taking a wormhole through space time for intergalactic travel?
I live in the Bx and go to CT several times a week. I be crossing state lines. I be plantin flags dawg.
