Another interesting thing to note is that 1973 document which refers to Larners first cousin Marcel Harrick who disappeared that same year and the feds at the time thought he was in Miami, but the reality was that some time later (dont remember if it was the same or few years later) Harrick was killed on Larners orders and his body was never found, which in fact was Larners modus operandi.

Did Larner essentially take over Eddie Vogel's rackets?

Not trying to be contrarian or make a big deal out of it, but how would Magnafichi be in a position to know what crew Rassano was with? He was 13 when he died. Sometimes guys get there own making ceremony dates wrong so it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility that he was off here. But then again, who knows.

His father was made and he personally knew Messino, Carlisi, DiFronzo, Andriacchi, and others. He knows the history of the EP crew.

I hear you but Larry Rassano just seems like a random name to ask about or be told about. Sometimes Outfit guys associated with people early on that brought them in and they kept those ties for the rest of their life. Even when they sometimes went on to do other things (like work for Aiuppa in this case) they still belonged to that original crew. Did he say whether or not Rassano was a made guy?

We are talking about the Outfit here, meaning it used to be one organization. So if Cerone knew or made business with Rassano or Ortenzi, it doesnt mean they were in Cerones crew. Rassano operated in southern Cicero aka Aiuppas area and lets not make fools out of ourselves here....Rassano was with Ortenzi, Russo, Inserro etc. Show me at least several EP guys that operated in the same Cicero area and lived in Berwyn at the same time? Rassano also had interests in MP, so that means he was with Battaglia? No sir, he took care of Aiuppas interests.

That all bay be true but perhaps he still "belonged" to Cerone but for whatever reason, he was assigned to Aiuppa for certain tasks and eventually just operated out of that MP/Cicero area even though he was still an EP guy "on paper."

Maybe it is a similar situation to Rocky Infelise, who was sponsored by Angelo LaPietra but worked under Joe Ferriola for the better part of the 80s until his arrest.

Im first time hearing about some EP made guy to be appointed from the 1940s until his death under completely different capo and to be in constant company for over 30s years, but you can never tell for sure with these guys...there used to be members from other crews who collected for certain price or interests for other capos but it lasted for short time periods.

LaPietra and Ferriola came from the same crew aka Buccieri/Torello group.

Besides Magnafichi, do we have any other source regarding Rassano starting in EP or being closely connected to that same crew?

That's true about LaPietra and Ferriola but LaPietra was running Chinatown by the time Infelise was made. Maybe it had something to do with Ferriola not being a capo at the time but I honestly don't know.

Story goes when Torello died, it was for Ferriola to take his place but it seems that he allegedly did something wrong and so it was for LaPietra to take his place. Thats why some of the guys said that Ferriola wasnt a capo because until 1983/84 he was under LaPietra. When Angelo went to jail, Ferriola became the boss of that large Cicero/Chinatown/South Side group with Infelice right beneath him, while it is possible that the Chinatown group received some independence to an extent since Jimmy LaPietra also became a capo but was way less powerful than Ferriola. I say independent to an extent, since when Ferriola died and later Rocky went to jail, Jimmy L and Monteleone both also had interests in Cicero, especially Monteleone which possibly means that old Buccieri connection never really faded off. Also, wasnt Tocco once scared from Ferriola? If so, that speaks volumes. When Palermo ended up in prison, the Cicero/South side crew took over their area right?

Well, LaPietra was also upset that Torello got the spot, more so than Ferriola, if I'm not mistaken. Ferriola supposedly reported directly to the bosses during this time period and was not under LaPietra. Frank or Nick never mentioned reporting to Ferriola during this time period either which leads me to believe that they were two separate groups. Sorry, don't mean to deviate from the discussion at hand but these things have a habit of flowing into each other.

I think Ferriola's group eventually grew to where he was elevated to a captain's status because Scarpelli describes him as such in 1989. I think Tocco feared him because he had a large crew with a lot of killers and was perhaps someone responsible for handling murders at that time.

I didn't ask about Rassano. I was asking the usual history-related questions and he brought him up. Yes, he was made.
