Thomas Fontanella obituary says he was part of the Societa Ragusa Americana which is a good guess where he came from.

The Fontanella surname is definitely present in Ragusa province, so I think the assumption that his ancestry was from their is doubly likely. Hardly ever see guys from there in the US mafia, but for the Easterners in general there seems to have been more immigration from Messina and Catania.

Joseph Salvatore Carrolla - Not sure why his mother’s name is listed as Maria… If I compare various obituaries, it suggests his mother was Rose… Also, the FBN has Charles Carrollo as a brother of Joseph Salvatore. Their father, Antonio, was from Santa Cristina Gela.

Salvatore Thomas, obviously, was a brother of Joseph and Charles. Their mother, Rose, also was a Carolla.
