What do you know about the 'Ndrangheta branches in Messina mentioned by Gaetano Costa? Are they sanctioned or just emulating nearby Reggio? This is all brand new to me.

This is an interesting question. Currently, deported Chicago zip and former narcotics trafficker Francesco “Southside Frankie” Infelise, who is from Sorbo San Basile, Catanzaro, and his brother are living in Catania province. My question has been whether they are affiliated with CN or an Eastern Sicily-based Calabrian ‘ndrina. From what I can tell Infelise also seems to have personal contacts with people in Palermo and Bagheria, as well as Catania.

So Domenico Scarfo got recorded saying he's n'drangheta and then he got recorded saying that he wants territory of his own for doing these hits. Territory from who? The Scoppa brothers? He doesn't seem dumb enough to really believe that they could grant him territory to control as his own in Montreal...maybe back then things were different and he was reading the Scoppa chances/fortunes differently. But here's a guy who claims to be ndrangeta already himself, seems to have no support or orders or any obligations or duties to ndrqanheta anywhere, and was apparently looking to the Scoppas for territory of his own in the new order once the Sicilians were fully blasted out of power...what am I missing? Were Sal and Andrew carrying enough juice at one point for Scarfs to believe they held the keys to the kingdom for him? Seems like a really long shot...maybe h just has iron balls and didn't mind the odds at the time...

BM is Arsène Mompoint, Jedi is Jerry Jacques Raymond, and Brad Pitt is possibly Jonathan Massari. Don't know who Pacer is though.

From the previous trial I had these two points written down in my notes. I can't say where the order came from except for this "Brad Pitt" based on the informants statements.

- When Victor Mirarchi was released from prison, "the Scoppa brothers would have been eliminated for Victor", explained the informant. It was ultimately the man nicknamed "Brad Pitt" at the trial who hired a guy to kill Sal, he says. 

- He added that at the same time, after being beaten by Salvatore Scoppa, Brad Pitt asked the mole to go to the Sicilians to take down Scoppa. After two months of proceedings, in December, the mole met Charlie Renda who confided in him that there were contracts on the heads of brothers Salvatore and Andrew Scoppa at $300k each.
