There are massive releases going on for the virus, it's the reason for them. You don't now you don't want him out on temporary leave. Something tells me that even if he was found to be innocent, you would want him to stay in prison.Wiseguy wrote: ↑Thu May 21, 2020 8:38 pmNo, it shouldn't be based on the current crisis and his age. The virus isn't some excuse to get out of prison, even temporarily. And something tells me that, even without the pandemic, you'd find some other reason to defend him.mafiastudent wrote: ↑Thu May 21, 2020 7:41 pmThe judge is biased period. Home confinement until the crisis is over for him to get the proper medical care isn't unreasonable.
Serious question, why don’t you attribute Joe DiNapoli with any responsibility for where he is?
Try it like this, who’s more responsible for where joe dinapoli is? Joe Dinapoli or the Judge?
And no ‘but’ answers. I don’t want to see ‘I’m not saying he’s innocent but...’

Did you notice there was no answer.
@MS: Again, for the third time, who is more responsible for Joseph DiNapoli being in prison, the judge, or Joseph DiNapoli?

To be honest with you, I can't really answer that question because after seeing what happened to Crea, unless I see the evidence for myself, I can't make any judgments on anything.SonnyBlackstein wrote: ↑Thu May 21, 2020 10:00 pmDid you notice there was no answer.

Re: Joseph DiNapoli Denied Compassionate Release
Anyone in prison if they were guilty is responsible unless they were unfairly sentenced. Example would be a non-violent offender getting more time than violent one. Or in the case we are discussing, the label of "Mafia Member" being used to justify extra time. They just gave an actress 2 months for paying a guy to help her daughter get into college by faking her resume. It was high profile case so the DA went after her and her husband and the judge gave time. America has an unbalanced system. I'm not unpatriotic, but we're just fucked up. I like to see a balanced and fair system, and that's why I agree with Mafia Student on this case. She'll do a story one day I disagree with, and I'll say it.SonnyBlackstein wrote: ↑Thu May 21, 2020 10:00 pmDid you notice there was no answer.

Re: Joseph DiNapoli Denied Compassionate Release
If there is a silver lining to this coronavirus pandemic, it's DiNapoli or any other criminal, in or out of prison, succumbing to it. One less crook walking the earth and a saving to tax payers.
All roads lead to New York.

But it's okay for taxpayers to fund guys like Spinelli or Zoccolillo....where they pay for everything including new cars, phones, gas, rent, insurance, clothes and everything else? Really? That's okay? And it's okay for them to lie on the stand fo the government so they can make their case and the more they lie the more they get? Or for tax money to be used to buy drugs and whatever else to set people up? And don't forget the informants who not only are getting paid by the government but also steal from the government while they're working for them. That's okay, right?
Send a guy to home confinement, it'll save money. But nowhere near the amount of money you'd save by not paying informants like they do and have to get what they want.

Now you’re making a presumption of innocence for a man who didn’t even do that for himself.mafiastudent wrote: ↑Thu May 21, 2020 10:03 pm To be honest with you, I can't really answer that question because after seeing what happened to Crea, unless I see the evidence for myself, I can't make any judgments on anything.

I'm not making a presumption of innocence. I'm saying I didn't look at or review of the evidence so I can't make a judgment about anything until I see it all for myself. I'm certainly not going to believe any news stories and sure as hell not going to believe anything the government says. Were there pleas, was there a trial? I don't know because I haven't looked into those past cases. However, I did look at this specific issue and it has to do with his medical conditions and being released to home confinement until the crisis was over. That's the issue...you want to bring all sorts of things into it for which I have no knowledge and thus can't make an educated decision either way.SonnyBlackstein wrote: ↑Thu May 21, 2020 10:51 pmNow you’re making a presumption of innocence for a man who didn’t even do that for himself.mafiastudent wrote: ↑Thu May 21, 2020 10:03 pm To be honest with you, I can't really answer that question because after seeing what happened to Crea, unless I see the evidence for myself, I can't make any judgments on anything.

Do you understand how truly idiotic this argument sounds? There are 2.2 million inmates in the US. None of whom are guilty according to you because you havnt seen the evidence personally.mafiastudent wrote: ↑Fri May 22, 2020 8:50 am I can't make a judgment about anything until I see it all for myself.

Re: Joseph DiNapoli Denied Compassionate Release
Do you realize how truly idiotic what you just said sounds? MafiaStudent focused one one case, and just an aspect of it, but just because a few here don't like the side of the story it gives, they make say things like "You want criminals to roam the streets" and "You justify murder and all crimes" and of course "You love criminals" Now this, saying she thinks no one is guilty. She wrote a story, it is factual, it's a book at a court ruling. Why attack MS, and ask her to defend herself.SonnyBlackstein wrote: ↑Fri May 22, 2020 9:12 amDo you understand how truly idiotic this argument sounds? There are 2.2 million inmates in the US. If anything in her story in not true, say it. Then there would be a real issue. Whats going on with these attacks is bullshit.
