Tony Blinds D'Antonio who was an associate during the Scarfo era was a contractor heavily involved in real estate who did renovation/restoration. He was close to Tony Pungitore Sr. and associated with Caramandi and Iannece. Involved in a number of scams related to the real estate/construction business. Joe Pungitore no doubt knew him.
Angelo Bruno's son-in-law Ralph Puppo (whose father Orlando was a made member) and family associate Michael Grasso, who was also related to Bruno, each ran their own real estate companies that worked with the mob.
The attempted extortion of real estate development company Rouse led to major problems for Scarfo.
Here is a 2006 article about the Philly mob and real estate. I wish it was more specific, not sure who the Scarfo era guy would be:

I think what garbageman is saying at least what I took from it was that it seems kinda weird that these guys are being followed around by a film crew from a news station about flipping houses. yes, the money they got came from ill gotten gains. people got hurt or killed. but ambushing george borgesi coming out of a mortgage office seems like a caricature of real reporting. someone gave steve mazzone a kiss on the cheek. must mean something.

You're not far off, for Joe Dickhead this might have been an interesting story, but these guys have been involved in real estate for some time, it's not really news. What's next? A month long investigation that will show these guys are involved in tow trucking too? Schratwieser loves ambushing these guys, you're right, he did with Ciancaglini a couple years back when he had that lottery stand. He does miss all the killings, gave him a reason to have his mug on tv more, he made that fucking DiPietro hit seems like Castellano.Cheech wrote:I think what garbageman is saying at least what I took from it was that it seems kinda weird that these guys are being followed around by a film crew from a news station about flipping houses. yes, the money they got came from ill gotten gains. people got hurt or killed. but ambushing george borgesi coming out of a mortgage office seems like a caricature of real reporting. someone gave steve mazzone a kiss on the cheek. must mean something.

Didn't Tom Gambino operate in Philly/S. Jersey until Merlino ran him out? He then went to California.

That's it. They've got all this surveillance tape of nothing. And for the record, rehabilitation was mentioned in the video. There is no rehabilitation in prison. No such thing. You are warehoused, fed & clothed. That's it. You really need to be sitting on your bunk, staring at another inmate to understand what I'm talking about.

Just in the vague terms that Chris Christie mentioned. The "other" Tommy Gambino tried to operate in Bruno/Scarfo crime family area, was told to cut it out by Merlino, and relocated to California.TommyGambino wrote:Do you know what exactly happened?Ivan wrote:the latterTommyGambino wrote:Which one, Carlo's son or Rosario's?Chris Christie wrote:Didn't Tom Gambino operate in Philly/S.
