Update on ParlatoNickleCity wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 3:01 pm
Turchiarelli's name comes up again in a 2013 article by Frank Parlato'2013 article in the Niagara Falls Reporter called "Target Of Libelous 'Mafia Enforcer' Attack Ads Works Hard, Lives Clean." Parlato writes:
Parlato then goes on to spout Turchiarelli's background as a degenerate gambler and boxer from Buffalo's westside and his rehabilitation in prison & virtues in the rest of the article. It is good story. Here is the link: https://www.niagarafallsreporter.com/St ... /whil.htmlIn one of the articles in the newsletter, delivered to Democratic voters the day before the primary, The Niagara Examiner writes:
"If you look through Councilman Fruscione's nominating petitions, you find that dozens of names were collected by a man named Louis Turchiarelli.
"Hopefully that name doesn't sound familiar to you. Mr. Turchiarelli recently completed his prison sentence for extortion, after being convicted of using threats of violence to exact an $18,000 gambling debt from a man in Rochester, NY.
"Councilman Fruscione, known for his love of all things Mafioso, found it wise to send this gentleman door-to-door in Niagara Falls, collecting signatures. That means the homes of our parents, grandparents, and children."
TIN FOIL HAT TIME
Who is Frank Parlato?
He is a newspaper editor/publisher/owner in Niagara County. These papers are The Niagara Falls Reporter, The Frank Report, and The Art Voice. He is also a developer in The Falls who has some trouble with the law-i.e. money laundering & fraud. Here are a few links:
https://www.niagara-gazette.com/news/lo ... 7c5a7.html
https://buffalonews.com/2018/07/24/seag ... o-accused/
https://buffalonews.com/2018/05/24/feds ... ams-heirs/
https://www.justice.gov/usao-wdny/pr/lo ... ng-charges
Info about Parlato facing new indictments is buried after the News Anchor story in this 2019 article linked below:
https://buffalonews.com/2019/07/01/chan ... wny-angle/
It appears Parlato uses his papers to prove his innocence... (Just do a search on each of those paper's sites.) And this bothered journalists at The ArtVoice which he took over in 2015. A journalist I know indicates many writers and employees left to begin a publication called The Daily Public in 2014 because Frank was using the paper for his own benefit.
https://buffalonews.com/2014/10/24/week ... ice-staff/
After these employees left Frank allegedly made veiled threats to one of the journalists and indicated he was in/or closely connected to the Buffalo mob.
Now one has to take this allegation with a grain of salt. After all Frank Parlato and the Niagara Falls Reporter did go after Butch Quarcini and the Local '91 Goon Squad. I've highlighted those articles her on BHF and on GBB. About his paper’s reporting on Local ’91 Frank Report writes:
Through a series of investigative reports, The Niagara Falls Reporter [The Reporter] exposed criminal conduct by members of Laborers Local 91 in Niagara Falls. These led to multiple indictments of Local 91 members. The Reporter was subpoenaed to disclose its notes. Since the notes would reveal sources, The Reporter chose to face contempt rather than disclose notes. The judge chose not to hold The Reporter in contempt. The conviction of 14 Local 91 members ended the stranglehold of the Mafia on construction jobs in Niagara Falls.
It is likely that Frank values sources as good journalists should. But at the same time if the leaders of the Buffalo mob wanted Quarcini and his “Goon Squad” gone, could these the good journalistic practices be used protect his connection to the mob?
According to Ron Fino, Butch Quarcini was definitely part of the Buffalo mob. Ron writes:
It appears Quarcini wasn't well liked by the leaders of the mob in Buffalo. Had they grown weary of the blue collar, thuggish practices that Quarcini employed? Were they ready to get rid of this “loose cannon?"It was always hard for me to figure out who Butch Quarcini answered to. I knew early on, when he first was elected, it was with the blessing of Magaddino’s son-in-law Jimmy LaDuca and Benny Nicolletti Sr. But later on he was not well liked by Roy Carlisi nor by Joe Todaro Sr. They always spoke about him being a loose cannon and never said anything nice about him.
Something else I’ve been thinking about: How did Mike Hudson, in his 2013, article get that “inside” information that the Todaros had stepped down and Falzone took over for the in 2006?
...Parlato was part of the paper at that time. If Parlato is connected is this a narrative that the leaders of the Buffalo mob wanted established?
TAKING TIN FOIL HAT OFF
Sounds crazy, I know…
Grasping at straws? Maybe.
Are the two scenarios I put forward about local ’91 and Falzone incorrect? They very well could be and they probably are.
But here is the linchpin: Something is going on.
If you believe there is any truth to what the journalist who left Artvoice said, like I do, then you got ask questions, develop a working theory and look for answers. But be prepared for those working theories to be challenged, changed, accepted and even discarded as new information comes to light.
So please dig in and see what you can learn and or challenge what has been said.
I was challenged by NickyfromTampa on GBB (I know you post her under another name). Props to you!! Your challenges made me learn more than I ever would have otherwise. I appreciate that, although sometimes you frustrated the hell out of me-LOL.
Frank Parlato faces prison term after plea to IRS charge, agrees to forfeit about $1 million

“…Parlato admitted he accepted cash payments totaling $19,970 from a food vendor at the One Niagara Welcome Center in Niagara Falls but failed to notify the IRS, which must be alerted to receipts of cash in amounts greater than $10,000.
Parlato, 67, was slated to go to trial next month on charges in an 18-count indictment, including fraud and money laundering.
Parlato also agreed to pay about $184,940 in restitution for unpaid taxes on years of income and to forfeit about $1 million to federal authorities, the latter of which was money seized by the government in 2015.”

His former editor at The Niagara Falls Reporter, Nick D’Angelo, is a piece of work too! He is an attorney in Lockport and I believe worked in the city or NF county prosecutor’s office (I’ll have to check that). He was accused of raping a 14 year old while a student at NF High School and is fighting several rape/sexual misconduct charges right now.Newyorkempire wrote: ↑Sat Aug 06, 2022 6:19 am I have a very close friend who is/was friends with Frank when all these articles about 91 came out. Of course Frank wrote three articles in The Frank Report interviewing him to get Nick’s story out, which (in my opinion) amounted to biased support and trying to change or at least supply an alternative narrative to protect Nick. Here is on e of Frank’s columns where he interviews Nicholas about the charges: https://frankreport.com/2020/09/04/did- ... g-females/
I can’t access other stories about Nick in Parlato’s Niagara Falls Reporter because the website indicates the account has been suspend.
Anyway, because Frank has used his paper to defend himself and his colleagues-just makes me wonder how many other stories he could have manipulated about the Buffalo Mafia.

Re: Buffalo/Ontario Mob Acitivity
I find this interesting that Parlato indicates:
Parlato was accused of laundering money in the original indictment and funny Bruno Bartolomei has been investigated for the same in connection with attorney Angelo Musitano according to a chart on Buffalo mob connections to Pat Musitano provided by Paul Manning.
For those unaware this is what I wrote in a previous post in this thread.
See: https://frankreport.com/2018/08/05/ohar ... e-enemies/“Bartolomei & Associates
John P. Bartolomei [To Bartolomei’s credit – when he was asked to get me indicted, he declined and soon left NXIVM’s employ. It is believed he referred BIll Savino to the vicious cult. Savino then made a fortune working for the Bronfman-Raniere crime organization – having much lower ethical standards – in my opinion.]”

This could certainly all be coincidence, but I find it unlikely myself.NickleCity wrote: ↑Fri Jun 03, 2022 1:42 pm
I believe [attorney] Angelo Musitano was connected to Bruno Bartolameo (last name is phonetic according to document) in an “investment business” and that Bruno Bartolameo is actually Bruno Bartolomei a Niagara Falls lawyer and developer. The “investment business” the two shared was laundering gambling profits for Sonny Nicoletti and Sonny Mauro by investing in Niagara Falls real estate. Angelo’s law parter John Mattio at his firm on Pine Ave was likely connected to Bruno and part of the money laundering operation.
Bruno had two brothers Leo and John - both of whom have been tied to the mob in Buffalo. See https://buffalonews.com/news/u-s-probe- ... 00c6a.html
Bruno’s brother John Bartolomei is a Niagara Falls Developer accused of using mob money for his developments.
Bruno’s brother Leo was allegedly killed as a result of his involvement in a mob related drug ring in 1959.He [John] also complained that he has been a lifelong victim of people who believe any successful Italian-American must be linked to the Mafia. He and Condon claimed the FBI would not be investigating him if he were not an Italian-American.
"The very first time I went to City Hall to discuss a development project, a city official -- I won't say who -- asked me: 'Is there any mob money in this project?' " Bartolomei said. "It's always been that way for me.”
"If his name was Butterworth, he wouldn't have these problems," Condon said.
Brothers shade image
[John] Bartolomei denies any mob involvement, but admits that his image has not been helped by the criminal difficulties of his two brothers.
Here is the portion of the Buffalo News article about Bruno’s involvement with Mauro and NicolettiHis oldest brother, Leo, disappeared in March 1959 and is believed to be the victim of a mob hit, according to police records. Police said Leo was a construction worker and muscle man for a drug ring and was killed during a series of gangland revenge slayings.
Bruno, was twice convicted by the Niagara County District Attorney's office on misdemeanor gambling charges, most recently in 1988. Investigators said both gambling operations were professional rings that paid a percentage of profits to organized crime.
Bruno, 48, lives in a Lewiston home owned by John Bartolomei and has been working for his brother as a construction supervisor at the Niagara Venture's tourist attractions. Four area police officials described Bruno as a longtime "associate" of Sonny Nicoletti, who is now under indictment on gambling charges and has been publicly identified by authorities as the mob's leader in Niagara County.

Re: Buffalo/Ontario Mob Acitivity
Great research as usual. I stand by my hybrid model notion. You have a lot of groups within the region, including Canada that operate under the auspice of traditional organized crime. Most within these groups are tied to the past actual official family which makes them believe they have a right to use the basis of the connection to commit organized crime within their own network and sphere of influence in what ever industry, although they would never be made or even considered an actual associate to what administration remains, but the result is still a heavy presence of Italian Organized Crime, albeit not traditional.

Re: Buffalo/Ontario Mob Acitivity
Yeah, I definitely believe there are traditional and non traditional aspects to the Italian Organized Crime in WNY yet there is an active an organized family based in Buffalo. I’ve been told it is “very active.” What that means and how it is or is not connected to the “nontraditional” aspects I don’t know and I’m not sure LE has a grasp on that either. I think what makes things even more difficult is the fact that there seems to have always been “Italian criminals” in the “legitimate” world with connections to the Todaro and other crime families/groups.
Now for those that don’t know, Peter Gerace like Nick Angelo is accused of being involved in the underage sex trade. Peter’s sex trafficking charge is against minors. The official count reads like this: 18:1594C.F CONSPIRACY TO COMMIT SEX TRAFFICKING OF CHILDREN BY FORCE, FRAUD, OR COERCION(9) See: https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/59 ... ngiovanni/
