Around what year did he get shelved & who did it because he was an Amuso & Casso loyalist. Why would Amuso let someone who was so loyal to him get shelved?chin_gigante wrote: ↑Thu Apr 29, 2021 8:09 am From my notes Lastorino was present for the following murders:
25 November 1986 - Nicholas Guido
17 May 1990 - James Bishop
24 August 1990 - Bruno Facciola
13 April 1991 - Bartholomew Borriello
He was also involved in planning the following killings:
05 February 1991 - Lawrence Taylor
27 March 1991 - Alfred Visconti
19 September 1991 - Anthony Fava
02 December 1992 - Patrick Testa
Those are at least the murders he has been identified in. He was inducted 1987 and promoted to captain in time for the October/ November 1989 induction ceremony. His promotion to captain could have been around late 1987 when Casso became consigliere or in 1988 when Chiodo and D'Arco were both upped. In July 1991 they put him on the panel to run the family. Then I think he was identified as the consigliere in time for the October 1991 induction ceremony.

Re: John Pennisi Sighting / Sit Down News
Pennisi said that it was because Lastorino was involved in killing Patty Testa. Testa was close to Amuso and when Pennisi spoke with Lastorino afterwards someone told him to stay away from him.JohnnyS wrote: ↑Thu Apr 29, 2021 9:20 amThe Bronx admin shelved him so whenever they came into power.Shellackhead wrote: ↑Thu Apr 29, 2021 9:04 amAround what year did he get shelved & who did it because he was an Amuso & Casso loyalist. I think Patty Testa was a messenger for Amuso/Casso & Lastorino killed him on behalf of Casso? (Some say he acted on his own) to blame the Gambinos as retaliation for the killing of Bobby Borriello & that would give them a motive to kill another guy that’s close to Gotti.SB1825 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 29, 2021 9:46 amPennisi said that it was because Lastorino was involved in killing Patty Testa. Re: John Pennisi Sighting / Sit Down News
I just re-watched the episode and I don't think he said anything about Lastorino getting taken off the shelf. He mentions that DeSantis was re-visiting the guys who were on the shelf and identifies Baratta as someone who got taken off it, but I don't think he says Lastorino was ever taken off the shelf.Amershire_Ed wrote: ↑Wed Apr 28, 2021 5:39 pm He also talks about DeSantis taking Anthony Bowat and Frankie Lastorino off the shelf when he became acting boss and everyone in the family respecting it.

Re: John Pennisi Sighting / Sit Down News
The Testa hit came from Casso, and Amuso didn't know about it. According to Pennisi, Lastorino was also involved in a plot at some point to kill Bobby Amuso.Shellackhead wrote: ↑Thu Apr 29, 2021 10:14 am I think Patty Testa was a messenger for Amuso/Casso & Lastorino killed him on behalf of Casso? So it seems him being on the shelf came straight from Amuso over his involvement in the Testa murder and the conspiracy to kill Bobby Amuso.

Re: John Pennisi Sighting / Sit Down News
In regards to the law and the government, Lastorino got the deal of a goddamn lifetime. He was involved in one of the most egregious mob murders of all time, in addition to a handful of other brutal murders. Plus he was alleged to have been involved with the whole Gas Tax thing handling the Lucchese's end and being 'direct' with the Administration?
Curious to know his background and who he came up under. Canarsie guy, right? Seems like a fast riser. Besides the time he was about to get killed by him, D'Arco didn't really mention him much in the book, which is surprising because D'Arco was around and involved with those Canarsie guys basically his entire mob career

Thanks Chin, nice list.
30 years since that last murder, I don't think he's worried.Shellackhead wrote: ↑Thu Apr 29, 2021 9:01 am if I was him I would stay on the shelf just to live the rest of my days a free man.
yet he wasn't a Canarsie guy himself. He grew up on Navy St iirc and even hung out in little italy around jimmy alto before he ever set foot on flatlands ave.newera_212 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 29, 2021 2:22 pm which is surprising because D'Arco was around and involved with those Canarsie guys basically his entire mob career

Re: John Pennisi Sighting / Sit Down News
Yeah he's basically a Little Italy guy. He married pretty young (I guess common for those days), moved to his wife's neighborhood after the wedding, and never left until he flipped. Spent the majority of his life on Spring Street more or less. Part of me wonders what's going on with that building today that he lived in and who's left there. Right there on the corner of Spring and Elizabeth. From what he said it was entirely mobbed up and if you're ever around there today you won't see anyone under the age of 60 going in and outjohnny_scootch wrote: ↑Thu Apr 29, 2021 3:25 pm

Is this the same John Santore who was affiliated with ILA?
Re: John Pennisi Sighting / Sit Down News
Not sure. He said in a youtube video he was a "scores guy" as in robbing bank(s) so i would lean No, but thats just my opinion and it doesnt mean sh*t. That company that returned lost luggage that he worked for. His mom worked there he stated. So that is another reason as to why he got his button probably.SolarSolano wrote: ↑Mon May 03, 2021 7:49 am Is this the same John Santore who was affiliated with ILA?

Maybe that had a disagreement about what they should call themselves - "rats" "cooperators" "informants" or whatever word the world comes up with for the people in Pennisi's former "life" (as he stated.)
