Re: Rockford LCN - help with opinions and direction
Do you realize who was indicted in that case??? Joe Saladino was charged in that indictment and is a verified made member of LCN and Frank Saladino another made member was a un indicted person who was only not indicted bc he was DEAD!! But not connected to LCN GTFOOH. If they really did say that it is bc they couldn’t connect them paying procedes to the Chicago Outfit and care very about proving that there is a separate LCN organization in Rockford. Police Chief Iasperro should thank his uncle for destroying all the Mob files in the 80s which must have contributed to not being able to connect this to the LCN in Rockford LMFAO.
Re: Rockford LCN - help with opinions and direction
I traveled back for that trial and the prosecutors kept bringing up that it was tied to the Outfit and Judge Reinhard wouldn't allow it because Gumba had died which severed him as a connection to them in the case.Pogo The Clown wrote: ↑Mon Mar 15, 2021 11:33 amPatrickgold wrote: ↑Sun Mar 14, 2021 9:13 pm Rockford had a major bookmaking indictment 15 years ago and all those guys are still alive and out of jail.
It was a small time operation and the prosecutor and investigators in that case flat out said that it was not tied to LCN.

You can say whatever you want but we have the prosecutor in this case flat out saying it was not an OC operation. One of the guys in the case had loose ties to LCN and those ties were to the Chicago Outfit and not the Rockford family.
And since when is Joseph Saladino a made member? This indictment made no mention of that. Same for Frank Saladino. He was indicted as an Associate in the Family Secrets case.
Yes thank you. That backs up what I was trying to say.

Even assuming it were a Rockford LCN operation, bringing up a small bookmaking operation from 15 years ago and guy here or there still being alive, as a basis for the Rockford LCN still being around today (what this thread seems to be really about) is just pure, sad desperation and a perfect example of why some of us (at least myself) are so anal-retentive about sticking to the facts.Patrickgold wrote: ↑Mon Mar 15, 2021 11:48 am Do you realize who was indicted in that case??? Contrary to popular opinion, I have no desire to ruin this thread. If you want to talk about Rockford, knock yourself out. But anyone who even attempts to argue there's still a family in friggin' Rockford, IL in 2021 is not a serious anything and is not living in reality. Period.
But enough about Rockford. They're old news. I'm wondering why nobody has started a thread on the resurgence of the Dallas family.

That backs up what your saying? Actually the opposite. It says that the Prosecutors wanted to use the LCN connection in trial but the Judge wouldn’t let them bc Gumbo was dead, so obviously they can’t say in a newspaper interview that it’s connected.Pogo The Clown wrote: ↑Mon Mar 15, 2021 12:01 pmPatrickgold wrote: ↑Mon Mar 15, 2021 11:48 am Do you realize who was indicted in that case??? Joe Saladino was listed as a lieutenant under Zammuto. Being listed Lieutenant in a LCN family usually means your made member. He also worked for the 26th street crew and was one of the reason there was a sit down between Rockford and Chicago with the results benefiting Rockford

You stick to the facts? That’s hilarious. Only when it benefits your theory. You have Buffalo indictments with authorities saying they are investigating LCN links and a friggin underboss of Buffalo family on tape saying he was promoted by Todaro but that’s not enough evidence LMFAO
Let’s be honest. You know absolutely nothing of Rockford. You probably couldn’t even find it on the map. You should stop trying to make your theories about them sound like you actually know what your talking about

Yeah and those loose connections were to Chicago. Not the Rockford family as you tried to claim. And if it was an LCN operation it would have been mentioned. If Joe Saladino was a made member and all the other guys in the case LCN Assocaites then it wouldn't have mattered if Frsnk Saladino died.

It’s a verified fact that several of those individuals were listed as LCN since at least the 1980s so it’s hardly loose connections. My advise to you and wiseguy is get the names of all the indicted and start doing research on them like Cavita does and see what “the loose connections” are instead of the same old their is no viable family in little Rockford. The reason LCN was not brought up bc Mars was investigating the Chicago Outfit and the past murders. They came upon this gambling ring bc of their investigation into Frank Saladino. Frank Saladino personally took part in murders with Nick Calabrese. When Saladino died, that connection to the Outfit died, which was the priority. They separated the two cases. Now Joe Saladino also worked for the 26th st crew at one time but was in prison at the time of the indictment. He was not involved in any of the cold case murders which was the priority. Mars was not investigating Rockford and probably had very little time and knowledge to expand the investigation into Rockford. It’s been the same story for the last 100 years. Rockford is obviously not a priority.

There is obviously something there which was the point of this friggen thread until you hijacked it. I don't know why I am even asking my time. The freakin prosecutor and LE investigators on the case openly said that this gambling ring was not an LCN operation. So in conclusion we have a pissant gambling bust from 15 YEARS AGO that at best had loose ties to Chicago and is now being used to prove there is a LCN family in Rockford.

Re: Rockford LCN - help with opinions and direction
This is by no means a complete list but starting in 1962 theses are some of the Sicilian immigrants to Rockford, the year they arrived and what town in Sicily they came from. In some cases I added a little extra information. Remember, some of these men came with other family members- brothers, parents, etc. so the number of Sicilian immigrants to the area was staggering. Some of these families spread out to Beloit, Wisconsin and South Beloit, Illinois while others went to Rockton, Roscoe, Byron and Rochelle. I'm not saying all these men were connected to the Rockford LCN but many were.

Apparently you don’t listen from the guy that actually attended the trial. Prosecutors wanted too but the judge said no. So obviously if some newspaper reporter asked them if it is they are going to say no or risk a mistrial. Not hard to figure out. It’s not LCN but all the indicted have been listed as either associates or members in years past. Yea they were just independent criminals that had the operations running since 1980 when it was verified to be LCN but 20 years later it’s not. They couldn’t connect them to Chicago with the death of Frank Saladino and that is why they said it was not connected.Pogo The Clown wrote: ↑Mon Mar 15, 2021 5:22 pm I don't know why I am even asking my time.
