Are you kidding? They are more entrenched, they even have their people on community boards and in political offices. When the NYPD tried to crack down on illegal activities such as clubs that served minors and ran after hours, the local politician who is Hispanic rallied with them and called it harassment. The police backed off. They are now in more states than the Mafia ever was, and in greater numbers. Plus their numbers are growing. They even run illegal shopping markets where anything from clothing to medicines and food can be purchased. Look up civilians killed by police in New York, a woman was killed by cops when they raided one such place years ago. They are all over New York, but don't get touched.scagghiuni wrote: ↑Mon Jun 10, 2019 1:19 pmthe point is that there will never again be a powerful criminal group like lcn at his peak in the states, today there are a plethora of gangs but there is not anymore a dominant national group, mexican cartels import drugs but they don't seem so entrenched in america territory, not even close to lcn was at its peakbert wrote: ↑Mon Jun 10, 2019 12:59 pm Some proof for the open minded, this is a Mexican gang reaching from Mexico to Virginia. They don't overlap with the Mafia at all. They're small, loosely organized, and pretty much only involved in street-level drug dealing. Comparing "Dominicans Don't Play" with "La Cosa Nostra" is ridiculous.bert wrote: ↑Mon Jun 10, 2019 2:03 pm 15,000 members, and growing

Okay but how does this infringe on La Cosa Nostra's power in New York. That is what we have been arguing since day one.bert wrote: ↑Mon Jun 10, 2019 2:05 pm Chinese Mafia in China and Mexicans in America working together to distribute fentanyl

Re: “The mafia is dead”
you're talking of all hispanic immigrants and gangs, i'm talking of a single criminal groups, there is not any single hispanic criminal groups even close to lcn at his peak, not even mexican cartels, at least in the statesbert wrote: ↑Mon Jun 10, 2019 1:49 pm Are you kidding? Re: “The mafia is dead”
It's true the Mexican DTOs operate from one side of the country to the other. And they are in more states than the Mafia was at its peak. And, because of their dominance of the U.S. drug trade, they are the biggest OC threat nationally. But they don't have a fraction of the political clout the LCN had. They don't control unions with which they influence interstate trucking or shut down shipping on the east coast. They don't control legitimate industries in New York. There is no national governing body like the Commission. So to argue they are "more entrenched" than the mob at its peak is simply not factual.bert wrote: ↑Mon Jun 10, 2019 1:49 pmAre you kidding? And who says they don't get touched in NY? Read the Southern or Eastern District websites. Or the Special Narcotics Prosecutor website. We see busts all the time.
While it's typical of minority politician playing race politics, you seem to be insinuating they're working at the behest of some OC group on the background.bert wrote: ↑Mon Jun 10, 2019 1:58 pm Read this, look what happened when they tried to create a database of new immigrant gangs. One of many gangs to originate in California with offshoots in other states. Sometimes there are strong connections between them, often not.bert wrote: ↑Mon Jun 10, 2019 2:00 pm This gang started in California, and is now spread out to New York

A lot of gang members in New York City. Another huge revelation. So are we just taking all the gangs now as one for comparison purposes?bert wrote: ↑Mon Jun 10, 2019 2:03 pm 15,000 members, and growing

Oh, scratch that. We're taking every illegal alien and combining them for comparison purposes.
All roads lead to New York.

Re: “The mafia is dead”
Bert, the links u posted don’t back up ur opinion that lcn is bein replaced by Hispanic gangs in the ny area. Gangs u listed like Dominicans Don’t Play and Sur 13 can be very violent and they do deal drugs, but they are nowhere even close to the level of organization that lcn has.
