Wasn’t he on the Tom’s River Little League champion team in the late 90’s?
I have no idea. I'm a sports fan so I remember him from his best seasons for the reds imo. Then after he retired he had some issues with ducks or something with hunting. I have no idea what exactly it was. But it had to do with wild animals and that's when I read about his ties to Jersey.
He played for the Yankees, I liked him he had heart. Most Yankees fans remember him from the picture he took with Jeter on the field at Yankee stadium a couple days after his team won the LLWS.
He played for the Yankees for one season. His best years were with the reds. I'm not from jersey, so I don't know shit. But I coach my sons travel baseball team. I have used his swing a few times to show the kids. That's how I remember his best years with the reds. His swing and Pujols swing is what I use the most, of course. The cardinals days, not the angels.
