This document (https://www.maryferrell.org/showDoc.htm ... elPageId=7) says that Pete Marino hangs out at the Dixie tavern (20th St. and 5th Ave., Brooklyn) and is a bookie near 69th St. and Fort Hamilton parkway, Brooklyn.

———

On “Early Genovese Bios”, it says: “Little known of early life, but originally lived in Brooklyn. Nephew of “Toddo Marino”, who probably sponsored him for membership. Only known arrest was for Narcotics in 1940. Moved to New Jersey, where he served under Capo Angelo DiCarlo. Also known to associate with Carmine Battaglia. In 1959 attended the funeral of Joseph Barbara, as the Family representative. Died in 1969.”

———-

I don’t know where the part about DeCarlo and Battaglia comes from, I couldn’t find anything on that.

My guess is that he was in Toddo’s crew.

B. wrote: Thu Sep 22, 2022 3:33 pm There could be something to it. Bonanno member Gaspare Mione/Maione was from Castellammare and two of his sisters married into the Callace family from Corleone, one of these being Lucchese member Frank Callace. One of the sisters allegedly provided the furniture at the Bronx apartment used in the Mineo/Ferrigno killing.

If Pietro was related to Gaspare it could fit in with the Corleonesi / Lucchese connection.
^^^ Just remembered, I think Pete Mione was the "Petey Muggins" described by Valachi as part of Maranzano's palace guard along with Buster Domingo and Muggins transferred to the Genovese with Valachi to protect them.

That would explain how he ended up a Genovese.

Yeah, I'm not quite sure about Toddo's crew status. He was identified as a capo in the early 50s, and a "Mafia Leader" in the FBN Book (c. 1960), so the theory that he was demoted and reinstalled after Nunzio 'Harry' Lanza in the early 70s, idk. I don't see a soldier as a 'Mafia Leader'. Doesn't strike me as a kind of guy who would be demoted and reinstalled.

Luzzi is in Cosenza and Angri is in Salerno. "Pu?adefusi"?

This is where Gaetano Musto's mother came from, his father Antonio came from Santa Maria CV which is most certainly Santa Maria Capua Vetere in Caserta.

Sebastian Ofria's parents both came from Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto, Messina, Sicilia which is where the Gambino Biondos came from.

Chris Christie wrote: Thu Sep 22, 2022 7:05 am There was a Mario Fiore and Angelo Fiore who were Springfield members. Mario I found but Angelo remains elusive. There was one born in 1881 and another in 1931. On MM charts there's an Angelo Fiore listed with an alias of Don Angelo but doesn't specify this name as Springfield but has him listed as a capodecina.
Angelo Fiore, the Genovese member, was a Brooklyn guy, not a member of the Sprinngfield crew. I posted info on him earlier in this thread.

Sandino Pandolfo needs to be removed, he was dead.

Michael Geralle was in Gene Catena's crew.
There are several errors on this list Chris. Off the top of my head; Franse was killed in the 1940s and not sure if he was made at all; Anthony Ruggiano was a Gambino member; Ianniello was under Carillo; Mickey Dimino (true name Michael Generoso was acting for his father Vincenzo; Gaetano Martino was a Gambino member; Joseph Gagliano died in 1947: Louis Pacella was made in 1976; Salvatore DiPietro was under Generoso; Mauro Manna - was he made???, died in the 1950s; Angelo Fiore was under Celano most probably; Arthur Palumbo was made in 1976; Were the Iacones made with the Genovese Family??? Charley Capociro is most likely Carmelo Coppolino; Thomas Lombardi under Funzi Tieri; Alfonso Roccomonte not made. In fact, I dont know who that is.

Keep in mind Chris, the lists the FBI produced in the early 1960s are very unreliable. The lists produced later on are much better to use as a reference when making these charts. Usually, those lists comes with "deceased members lists" as well, that is, names on confirmed members who have died. If you like, I will send them to you. PM me.

Might have made a connection or may be a coincidence but-

John Biele is one of the guys I'm having trouble tracking down.

Giovanni Biele
Johnny Futto
5/3/1906 NYC
Miami, formerly at 530 Grand Concourse, Bronx, NY
Giuseppe Biello
Concetta Marciano
Millicent Castelli
Co-owns Bell Air Hotel.
FBI # 583787

Well,
Amedeo Principe
Matty
7/28/1908
Benevento, Campania
244 Dean St, Brooklyn, NY
Liberatore Principe -Benevento, Campania
Gaetana Biele -Benevento, Campania
Madeline Prete
Chauffer
FBI # 269341

It could be a coincidence or mistake on the spelling or on my part, but it could also be a connection and may point to John Biele coming from Benvenuto.

Many of the names you told me were dead I already have checked off. When I look these guys up I literally look up everything including when they died. Using Ancestry or newspaper or MF, I have better success which lowers my margin of error when I go through as much as I can. Different spellings, names, nicknames, their parents, mother's surnames, where they were in the census. What the newspapers said, what MF says, google searches. But I do make mistakes and that's why I recheck my work. Still though, any and all help is appreciated. You've looked at this family longer, it's kind of your expertise, I'll defer to you.

The deceased names I came up with I deleted and didn't look up their their parents and grandparents and what part of Italy they came from but now I'm thinking a deceased member section may be relevant and add to the knowledge base. Only question is how far back? 5 years, 10 years, 20? I'd cap it to after 1950-1955 up to 63. I'm open to everyone's thoughts on this. They can't be factored in to the stats as it'll skew the results.

With the Gambinos if someone died within the last 5 years of 1963 I included him with the rest but wrote Deceased and listed their information. I think doing it that way with the Gens may also shed light. As a theoretical, showing three deceased Corleonese who were part of the Coppola crew may show continuities.

I'll DM you for the list. Thank you.

I have no clue on Mauro Manna.

Regarding the Iaccones, they do fit as there were other members in Worcester-

Carmine Toto was documented as Frank Tot, born in NJ and if I'm correct his father was Nicola Toto who came from Castelpetroso, Insernia, Molise. Joel, you said he was from Campania? There was another Carmine Toto who also came from Italy, Molise also.
