Dominic was adopted I believe - Phil was his stepfather if I am not mistaken. That is really tragic the wife and son passed so soon - had to have been tough living under that roof. Brutal guy.

I think Lombardo was present at the house when Alderisio was arrested but he was able to skate. Patsy Ricciardi was another guy that pulled up right as the cops were taking Alderisio away.Villain wrote: ↑Wed Aug 19, 2020 11:01 amNice info. I think when he and Lombardo got arrested together, the feds found more than few weapons right?SolarSolano wrote: ↑Wed Aug 19, 2020 9:59 am Phil's house on Berkely in Riverside was on the market a few years ago - I toured it. WOW. Just a beautiful home and boy would I love to explore all of those walls. He apparently had a gun room in the basement and the owners had said shell casings were found in the vents, indicating they were shooting off rounds in the basement as well.
On the subject of Alderisio (and Antilliar may have already stated this), when he was made in 1956 he was sponsored by Sam Battaglia and Marshal Caifano.

It's illustrative how the winds of fortune could blow for these guys that Caifano sponsored Alderisio, and then later in his career winds up answering to one of Alderisio's proteges (i.e. Lombardo).Snakes wrote: ↑Thu Aug 20, 2020 11:51 amI think Lombardo was present at the house when Alderisio was arrested but he was able to skate. Re: Current Chicago Players 2020
Tony and Johnny Spina Jr are both older brothers. Christy was the youngest of 8 kids born to immigrants from Cozenza, Calabria who lived at 2221 W Race for decades. Christy also had brothers named Fred, Gabriel, and Peter. How connected were/are Johnny Jr and and Tony (so far as I can tell both are still alive)? All I know is that both were Streets and San employees who were arrested on weapons charges in the 90s when Christy was caught driving Lombardo around on the clock. And what about the other brothers?SolarSolano wrote: ↑Thu Jul 23, 2020 2:43 pm The Cassano brothers (Angelo, Gino, Dom, Vito) should be on the list under Cicero. Angelo may have passed away recently, but was a very violent guy.
Spina's younger brothers Anthony and Johnny should also be on the list if they are still around.
As a related point, I'd strongly suspect that at least some of the Spina Bros were C-Notes given their ages and very strong ties to Race and Leavitt. Hardly any documented info over the years on C-Notes membership, as CPD never conducted any real investigations on them (gee, I wonder why...), so I can only surmise.
Additionally, for anyone who thinks it's a priori ridiculous to not assume that Lombardo completely distanced himself from Outfit business after he was paroled, what exactly did he have Spina driving him around town for? Was he just ferrying him back and forth between Holy Rosary and the bingo hall?

As an addendum to the above post this pic (courtesy of Chicagoganghistory.com) shows young ("Pee Wee") members of the C-Notes gangbanging during the annual Race Ave block party in the early 80s (2200 block of Race between Leavitt and Oakley). The Spinas were responsible for organizing and hosting these block parties.

Re: Current Chicago Players 2020
Thanks for the Ricciardi info and Alderisios induction was similar as most, meaning he was sponsored by a capo and one influential soldier. During the early 50s Caifano controlled few made guys under Battaglia and he wasnt a simple soldier. Allegretti had the same type of sponsors right? Prio, a capo, and Colianni, a influential member who was transferred from the north side crew to the Indiana crew under Pinelli. Although we also have some cases in which candidates were sponsored by underboss and a capo, or two capos at the same time i think, or even non-Italians who sometimes vouched for these guys....I remember Patrick saying to some of his Italian crew members to stay away from made guys lolSnakes wrote: ↑Thu Aug 20, 2020 11:51 amI think Lombardo was present at the house when Alderisio was arrested but he was able to skate. Re: Current Chicago Players 2020
Ricciardi was actually a Genovese associate who relocated to Chicago - he was Phil's nephew or cousin if I remember correctly. Then killed by one of Phil's crew members - The German. PizzaBoy on the GangstersBB forums - who is a Bronx native - actually knew Patsy Ricciardi as a young man fairly well and traveled to Vegas with him. Said Patsy would walk the strip with a fur coat on 90 degree nights and they would walk into casinos and be staked quickly.

House very modern for the time it was built. As I’ve said before the outfit is very clannish you also had joe ferriola and Dino mArino living in riverside. Then the big guys moved to oak brook and the regular guys to westchester. I’ve always said how funny it was westchester had only 16,000 residents and among them were Nick ferriola, Mike sarno, Sal cataudella, Marco damico , Dino mArino after he left riverside, and Jimmy diforti. Then in Darien you had inendino fratto spano and some associates as well as toots Caruso nearby in lemont

Re: Current Chicago Players 2020
I might rain on a lot of parades but as I said the point of this was the outfit is mostly associates. Many of the guys put on top of the totem pole are retired. If Solly d was running the outfit he would not be at his office all day everyday being completely legit. One funny thing he has a don corleone wine bottle on his desk and god forbid if you knock it over on accident lol. He’s happy to tell stories about the old days but it seems like that life is behind him. Who knows maybe I’m wrong
