In Last Testament, Bill says Natale Evola was a group leader at the time of Maranzano’s death.

Re: Bonanno Family Lineage Chart
Another early Partanna guy is Andrea Ingoglia. Lived in South Williamsburg then Bushwick but was arrested in the California Bay Area in 1948 as head of a drug trafficking ring. Described by authorities as "an important member of a Sicilian mafia organization operating on the West Coast" who was bringing heroin from New York City. If he was made he would have been a Bonanno unless he transferred to one of the Bay Area Families. Died in 1958 and I think he was deported before that, not mentioned to my knowledge by Bonanno informants.
We've also talked about a possible Bonanno member active in California in the 1940s, Benny D'Aguanno from Brooklyn. From what Pietro Sciortino said to the FBI it sounded like D'Aguanno had higher status than him (Sciortino, who probably wasn't made yet) at the time. D'Aguanno was from Paceco which shows up heavily in the 1883 investigation along with Castellammare. I believe he got busted for drugs in California too so maybe he was working with Ingoglia.

Re: Bonanno Family Lineage Chart
D'Aguanno was arrested in the 1950s for trafficking heroin with James LaSala, who Sciortino also mentioned. Bill Feather has him as an LA member. They were almost certainly getting the heroin from Joseph DiGiovanna, described as a mafia member in the FBN book and brother of caporegima Anthony DiGiovanna. The FBN noted that he had connections to San Francisco, near where Benny and LaSala were arrested, and Los Angeles. They also noted he was associated with Joe Scia.B. wrote: ↑Fri Jul 15, 2022 7:37 pm Another early Partanna guy is Andrea Ingoglia. I think Antonio Bello was described as capodecina by Bompensiero during the 50's before he moved to San Diego/California (I had the file but lost it sorry)

Vincenzo Asaro, the one who was demoted by Bonanno was most likely a skipper during the 1950s.Antiliar wrote: ↑Fri Jul 15, 2022 10:35 pm Updated list of Bonanno capos, late 1931:

John Bonventre also a skipper before moving back to Sicily in 1958.
Dominick "Mimi" Sabella also a skipper during the 1950s.
In the 1960s, an informant advised that Nick Alfano was a long time captain so definitely a skipper during the 1950s. We don´t know how far back he went but who knows...he may have been a skipper already in 1931.

I believe Biagio Restivo was a Capo who was demoted in the early 1950s.

It looks like Restivo was still a captain by 1964:Pogo The Clown wrote: ↑Sat Jul 16, 2022 6:49 am I believe Biagio Restivo was a Capo who was demoted in the early 1950s.

That file number, 92-7646, is Restivo's Bureau file number.
By 1966 he's referred to as a "former captain", so he might have retired like other old time captains during the split.

Great find. Was John Morales a Capo before he was UnderBoss?

Re: Bonanno Family Lineage Chart
This is my list for caporegimes circa 1963:
Nicolo Alfano
John Aquaro
Salvatore “Bill” Bonanno
Angelo Caruso
Vincenzo Cotroni
Gaspare DiGregorio
Anthony DiGiovanna
Carmine Galante(IP)
-Acting Joseph Notaro
Giuseppe Grimaldi
Frank LaBruzzo
John “Johnny Burns” Morale
Michael Sabella
Matteo Valvo
Natale Evola(IP), not sure if he kept his rank while in prison.
In terms of crew succession:
Bill Bonanno took over from James Venza sometime in the 1950s. He eventually transferred to the San Francisco family before moving to Italy.
Caruso took over from Colletti, who died in 1957.
Cotroni broke off from the Galante crew, not sure when. Maybe when Galante went to prison?
LaBruzzo may have taken over Pietro Licata's crew. It was reported later that he was a captain who was demoted by Bonanno, and in a wiretap LaBruzzo said that when he was made a caporegime, an "old white hair Licata" was the only not to congratulate him.
Sabella took over from John Bonventre when he left for Sicily.
Valvo took over John Tartamella's crew he had when he was the consigliere around 1962.

I think so, pretty sure Bill refers to him as a group leader sometime before he was officially underboss.Pogo The Clown wrote: ↑Sat Jul 16, 2022 7:30 am Great find. Was John Morales a Capo before he was UnderBoss?

Re: Bonanno Family Lineage Chart
Thanks. According to Bill Bonanno the family had 15 captains during the early 1960s. So adding Restivo to your list gets us to that number.

Just realized I forgot to add him lol. Another one is Nick Marangello, pretty sure he was a captain by 1963
Pretty sure on the LaBruzzo wiretap theres something about there family having between 15-20 captains, so there might be a few we’re missing.

Added Restivo and Marangello. Marangello reported as a caporegima by April 1964, so I think it's likely he was earlier on. Although I don't think he should be included in the 1950s, more likely he was a soldier in Galante's crew who became a caporegime sometime in the early 1960s.thekiduknow wrote: ↑Sat Jul 16, 2022 7:35 am This is my list for caporegimes circa 1963:
