Regarding Lefty claiming 26 or 27 hits whatever it was under his belt, it wasn't just from the movie. Pistone quoted him as saying it in the book. Pistone also claimed that Mirra had killed "20 or 30 people". Anthony Rotondo testified that Louie LaRasso had "20 or 30 bodies under his belt". I don't doubt that these guys were all killers but these numbers seem way inflated. LCN Bios has a really good run down of the known murders committed by DeMeo's crew and he was hands-on for the vast majority of them, so he might be the most legitimate contender for highest body count that we can confirm anyway.
I think if we're counting in terms of total number of murders where the guy either ordered it or played some kind of role (i.e. how Gravano claims 19 bodies or Gaspipe has 36) then I think that the Boot Boiardo would probably be up there. This cold-hearted son of a bitch was having guys killed from the Prohibition era all the way to the late 70s.
This whole exaggeration is part of the culture. And also part of law enforcement. I do like the story in Last Mafioso where Fratianno where FII is debriefing him and the FBI guy asks if he killed as many as fifty guys, and Fratianno laughs and says its under ten. I have FBI files of them saying Rafaelle Qusarano in Detroit was a suspect in 24 hits. I'd like to know what these 24 hits were. That's bullshit. Writers exaggerate, mobsters exaggerate, and law enforcement exaggerate.
In the USA, I'm willing to go with actual killer who pulled the trigger or stabbed a guy or was in the room when it happened.....with DeMeo.

Pretty sure that was just a line in the movie.
Pogo
It's furio..... Gotta just let him slide.
Don't broke the balls.
Anyways.... U can add Richard kuklinski to the list even tho he lied a lot....
Did kuklinski take credit for the Gallo hit too???
Or was that just Sheeran?? Or both???
And then you can add pitera.
JeremyTheJew,I can understand that I've done some bullshit in the past but I don't have to be pissed off for everything I write.Everybody can write a name but name a source? Apart Lefty Brusca and Barra was recorded saing how people killed,Avola confessed,Greco was sentenced for 58 murders but for sure was more,in castellano tapes was compared the 38 murders of DeMeo with the less 10 murders of Gotti.
DeMeo directly killed 38 people but partecipated in almost 100 hits.
Some respect would be appreciated.
Fur ur my boy bro
I'm only having fun with you
But you also know that you been do in the same act out now for ten years... It is what it is.
Dont get all sensitive bud.
I look at you like the foreigner cousin at the party that you want to include in on everything but can't BC there stuck in 1920 bunchawanna land and just can't get the flow
There’s definitely a huge difference in pulling the trigger and driving the car. I know the FBI doesn’t discern but it’s worlds away.... a la Michael Franzese getting in.

Its not us fault.
Its your fault if you start mocking me and anyway what means " can't BC there stuck in 1920 bunchawanna land and just can't get the flow" in italian would be" hai fatto la supercazzola".

I second this. It's probably Roy in the USA. Seems like the most prolific killers usually max out at around 10, but DeMeo was an overachiever. I don't know much about Tommy Karate but from what I've heard he might be up there with DeMeo.
BTW you guys ever see those "mafia encyclopedias" that credit every mob killer with 50-100 hits? Those are hilarious. I remember thinking if those numbers were accurate, there'd be no one left in the mob.
Tommy Karat had a TON, Bull had more than 19 Allegedly. Gaspipe had like almost 40. Demeo and scarpa themselves had around 50 each personally I believe. But ive seen a list of each demeo murder and theres almost 75 and I think Roy did like at least 40-50 of them...he was involved with all I believe but i think only did like 40-50 physically.
In italy Riinas ppl did unspeakable things to people including murdering children
“In Italian, La Cosa Nostra is also known as ‘our headache.’” -Jerry Anguilo
Giovanni Brusca 150 (he confessed more 100 and few that 200 murders)
Maurizio Avola 80
Pasquale Barra 67
Antonino Schettini (confessed 59 murders)
Giuseppe Greco (sentenced for 58 murders in absentia)
Roy DeMeo 38 (by castellano tapes)
Salvatore Gravano 19
Not sure where the idea that Tommy Karate killed 50+ comes from. Everyone says that but when you look at his identified victims there's like nine and not much in the way of real evidence that there are a lot more of that. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
If they don't get into really extreme figures, the higher body counts are believable if they include simply being involved in the murder in one way or another and not being restricted to just the one pulling the trigger. Especially if we're talking about decades ago when the mob killed more readily and frequently.
Does anyone have trouble believing someone like Casso was involved in 36 murders, particularly if his involvement in most of them was simply ordering them or being part of the planning?
