Here a very rough and partial list of associates I've compiled. It is by no means complete and the ages and status of some of these guy's are hopelessly out of date. I'm sure many of them are no longer involved. Basically I just listed anyone associated with Philly since the 90s but even then I'm sure I missed a lot that have been identified in the press.

Found some more on Joe Fudge:

https://www.inquirer.com/philly/busines ... 81119.html
DeSimone, interviewed at his South Philadelphia house last week, acknowledged that he had been aligned with Philadelphia mob boss John Stanfa in the early 1990s. DeSimone also occupies a small, uncredited role in local Mafia lore after John Veasey, a mob hit man, assaulted him with an electric drill. DeSimone was identified only as "Joe Fudge" in Veasey's dramatic 1995 courtroom testimony.

DeSimone said he has gone straight since his 2005 release from prison for conspiracy, and he now makes a living from Social Security, odd jobs, and work as a "consultant," connecting parties in business deals. He says he is shopping a screenwriter's script to potential investors. The condition of his unheated, two-story, rented rowhouse, with a hole in the living room ceiling from leaking pipes, suggests he has not been entirely successful.

DeSimone said that Giammarino is "100 percent legit," and that he introduced the pizza shop owner to Parx officials because he hoped to earn a commission, not because he was getting a foothold in the casino for the mob. He is still unhappy with Giammarino that he never got a finder's fee.

Parx permanently banished DeSimone from the casino on Christmas Eve last year, three days after the gaming board moved to revoke Giammarino's permit. A Parx spokeswoman declined to comment.
20200816_005523.jpg
(You can find this document at the bottom of the Inquirer article.)

One thing I'm wondering about is DeSimone's willingness to be interviewed and how, in this excerpt, they describe him as being associated with the Philadelphia family (rather than being a member) whereas at another point in the same document they explicitly refer to Brescio as a Genovese capo.

It should also be noted that Joe Fudge is a cousin of Frank Martines.

Anyone else think it’s almost time for a new Member induction ceremony. Probably At some point in 2021. I think it’s been 5 years since anyone was newly made in Philly.

Merlino being under supervised release for the next year might impact when new members are inducted, if anymore are to be at all (if there's little going on there might not be any point in making any other guys).

When Merlino is on the street he's hot as a coal oven, you have to imagine he's staying far away from any making ceremonies at this point in his career. Everyday people, the media and most importantly the feds are all over this guy constantly he's a top 10 celebrity gangster. If he has any brains at all he's staying far away from making ceremonies for his, his men and the organizations sake.

Potential Criminal Activity Alert
FBI Miami

https://wikileaks.org/gifiles/attach/10 ... tifica.pdf
As of March 2011, former Philadelphia LCN crime family boss, USPER Joseph “Skinny Joe” Merlino, appears to be restoring and developing significant relationships for a potential South Florida crew.
[…]
[Frankie Sisto] is related to USPER Steven Mazzone, a caporegime in the Philadelphia LCN crime family.
Analyst Note: Ligambi may appoint Mazzone as the new boss.
The identification of Mazzone as a captain looks inaccurate. Mazzone was described as consigliere in the above 2010 conversation, and elsewhere in the document Ligambi is incorrectly identified as the boss rather than the acting boss (though it wasn’t until 2012 that the FBI started referring to Ligambi as the acting boss again).

Second superseding indictment in the Ligambi case

https://www.justice.gov/archive/usao/pa ... CTMENT.pdf
JOSEPH LIGAMBI, a/k/a “Uncle Joe,” a/k/a “Unc,” was a “made” member of the Enterprise who rose through its ranks to become its “underboss,” then, after the incarceration of his predecessor Joseph Merlino, the “acting boss” of the Enterprise.
[…]
JOSEPH MASSIMINO, a/k/a “Mousie,” was a “made” member who served at times as the “underboss” of the Enterprise.
[…]
GEORGE BORGESI, the nephew of defendant LIGAMBI, was a “made” member who served in various roles including, the “consigliere” of the Enterprise.
[…]
MARTIN ANGELINA, a/k/a “Marty,” was a high-ranking “made” member of the Enterprise.
[…]
ANTHONY STAINO, JR, a/k/a “Ant,” was a “made” member who rose to the rank of “caporegime” of the Enterprise and regularly assisted defendant LIGAMBI in controlling the Enterprise’s affairs.
[…]
JOSEPH LICATA, a/k/a “Scoops” was a “made” member who rose to the rank of “caporegime” of the North Jersey crew of the Philadelphia LCN Family.
It should be noted that Borgesi was previously prosecuted as the acting consigliere of the family, not the official consigliere (https://law.justia.com/cases/federal/ap ... 44/636851/).

Chianese, Gallicchio, Servidio

https://www.scribd.com/document/3742865 ... =affiliate
On July 4, 2016, CS-1 had a meeting with INDIVIDUAL 2 at a residence in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Individual 2 was CS-1’s capo in the LCN criminal organization, meaning that CS-1 reported to Individual 2. During the meeting INDIVIDUAL 2 and CS-1 discussed CS-1’s drug trafficking plans/ activities, and INDIVIDUAL 2 gave his approval for CS-1 to be involved in such activities.
[…]
[On July 11, 2016] CS-1 then drove to Atlantic City, New Jersey and had a meeting with INDIVIDUAL 2. After discussing other criminal activity, INDIVIDUAL 2 also addressed CS-1’s criminal activity with Joseph Servidio. INDIVIDUAL 2 said, “Here’s the thing with Joey Electric (SERVIDIO), he’s got to make sure he tells (his capo) what he’s doing.”
[…]
On September 30, 2016, CS-1 had a meeting with JOSEPH SERVIDIO in Northfield, New Jersey. During the meeting they discussed several Philadelphia LCN matters […] SERVIDIO asserted that another member of the Philadelphia LCN, who is believed to be a capo, wanted “everything on the record” with regard to criminal activity involving CS-1 and SERVIDIO. SERVIDIO said, “…I’m going to be honest with you, they (Philadelphia LCN capos) don’t even want us having dinner together.” CS-1 said, “Why? What’s the reason?” SERVIDIO said, in reference to the LCN member above, that this member wants SERVIDIO’s capo to know “every time we get together and know what we’re doing, because he says we’re making money (through criminal activity) and they’re not making money…” CS-1 informed case agents that CS-1 believed that the LCN member wanted to ensure that Philadelphia LCN capos were receiving tribute, or portion of the proceeds, from criminal activity that occurred when crews under different capos were working together.
CS-1 is Anthony Persiano and Individual 2 is Dominic Grande. Servidio’s capo is Joseph Licata though I’m not sure about who the third captain could be. As an educated guess, I’d say possibly Lancellotti.

31 January 2019:
Phillip Narducci is identified as an LCN member rather than as holding any specific rank (https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/philadel ... 20borrower.)

Hierarchy positions – Part 2/3

Information from George Anastasia and Dave Schratwieser

Alleged Mob Boss Eschewed Violence, Shunned Publicity, While Making Cash
24 May 2011

https://www.inquirer.com/philly/news/ho ... _cash.html
According to at least one underworld source, Ligambi told associates that if he were imprisoned, Ciancaglini should take over as head of the crime family. From Florida, however, Merlino has tapped Mazzone for the top spot.
Is the Mob Dead in Philly?
27 February 2014

https://mycitypaper.com/Cover/Is-the-mo ... in-Philly/
According to sources both in law enforcement and underworld circles, Ligambi has told anyone and everyone that he’s done; that he just wants to relax, spend summers in Longport and make trips to Florida when the weather gets too cold.
[…]
Borgesi, 50, who is also back on the street, remains a wild card for those watching where the mob may be headed.
[…]
Law enforcement and underworld sources allege Ciancaglini controls mob gambling and loan-sharking in Delaware County, an area where Borgesi once held sway.
[…]
Another key figure mentioned by anyone doing an analysis of the local mob is Phil Narducci, 52, a mob soldier who spent more than 20 years in jail after being convicted as part of the Scarfo organization in 1988.
Sitting in the Deptford Mall during this past Christmas shopping season, Narducci pleasantly introduced himself and, during the course of a casual conversation, said he had no intention of going back to that life. But law enforcement sources say otherwise.
Joey Merlino Heading Back to Philadelphia
08 September 2014

https://www.bigtrial.net/2014/09/joey-m ... ck-to.html
According to a violation notice filed last month, Merlino was spotted meeting with mobster John “Johnny Chang” Ciancaglini and two other convicted felons on June 18 at a restaurant and a cigar bar in Boca.
Merlino, Ciancaglini and five other co-defendants were convicted in a highly publicized 2001 racketeering case in Philadelphia. Merlino, the boss of the crime family at the time, was sentenced to 14 years in prison and three years of supervised release.
Ciancaglini, a mob capo, was sentenced to eight years and three years of supervised release.
Who’s the Boss? And Why Would He Want to Be?
12 February 2015

https://www.ganglandnews.com/members/column935.htm
[Ligambi] is now 73 and has apparently slid over to the role of consigliere. According to sources, he's smart enough to realize that that's a safer and more secure position. He's semi-retired and happy to be.
Most sources believe Stevie Mazzone and Johnny Ciancaglini are street bosses who control or at least oversee the bookmaking and loansharking operations that are still sources of income. Ciancaglini's aforementioned father Chickie, now 80, was released from a halfway house earlier this year after doing nearly 30 years for racketeering. He is still highly regarded and has become one of the "old heads" who could lend stability to the often chaotic crime family.
[…]
Speculation is that Phil Narducci is at least in contention for the top spot. For now, say those sources, Narducci, along with Johnny Ciancaglini and Mazzone, is part of a ruling committee that is steering the crime family.
[…]
George Borgesi, Ligambi's nephew, is the second question mark.
The volatile one-time mob capo comes off supervised release in July. Like his uncle, he beat the feds in a racketeering case and a retrial. He once had control of gambling and loansharking in the Philadelphia suburbs. Where he might fit in the new structure is a question that everyone is asking.
Interesting to see the transition from Mazzone being identified as the one running things to more of a sense that Ciancaglini was also highly involved. In retrospect though (based on Narducci’s activities since then), a formal Ciancaglini-Mazzone-Narducci panel seems quite unlikely.

The Big Philly Question: ‘Who’s the Big Joe?’
10 December 2015

https://www.ganglandnews.com/members/column978.htm
Most say it's Skinny Joey.
No way, Merlino, 53, said in a text message recently after media reports indicated he had come up to Philadelphia to take part in a sitdown designed to iron out a dispute between longtime mob soldier Martin Angelina and one-time capo George Borgesi.
[…]
"No matter what you hear, Joey's still in charge," said one source. "You can take that to the bank."
In that scenario, Ligambi, 76, and Ciancaglini, 80, are serving as advisors — dual consiglieres — and Steve Mazzone and Ciancaglini's son, John, are street bosses.
Note that the description of Angelina and Borgesi makes it look like they are soldiers at this time. Not sure how official a ‘dual consiglieres’ situation could be. Also note that no mention is made at this time of Narducci or a committee.

Experts: Philadelphia Mob is Growing
25 January 2016

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z5-7ZQxRCoI
DS: Borgesi has been out of prison just over a year and has been the centre of attention in South Philly for months now. Hanging on street corners with fellow wiseguys, or in deep discussions with high-ranking mobsters like acting mob boss Joe Ligambi or reputed underboss Steve Mazzone.
GA: He’s obviously a player, I mean he’s in the middle of all of this.
[…]
DS: Federal and state investigators believe Ligambi still oversees the resurgent Philly mob. Over thirty inducted members are back on the street. Sources say several new mobsters were recently inducted into the local family. But while the overall numbers are strong, insiders say they’re divided into four factions: one headed by Ligambi, one by former mob boss Joey Merlino, and another by convicted wiseguy Phil Narducci, part of the Nicky Scarfo mob in the 1980s. A fourth faction is said to be loyal to Joe Pungitore, another convicted former Scarfo mob captain.
GA: Who’s the boss and who wants to be the boss? I mean, Joey Merlino is very clever that way and if I had to take a bet, I’d say Joey’s still the guy in charge.
In retrospect, I’d find it hard to justify the description of Ligambi and Merlino as having different factions. Based on how little has come out of it, the talk of friction between Merlino guys and Scarfo guys seems overblown (especially considering that Joseph Ciancaglini, Faffy Iannarella and Joey Grande seem to have fallen in with the Merlino people). Considering Narducci and Pungtore’s activities since then (or relative lack of activity) it would look like they were just doing their own thing rather than leading ‘factions’. It should also be noted that Pungitore was never a captain under Scarfo.

Unsolved Murders Still on the Feds’ Philadelphia Agenda
18 February 2016

https://www.ganglandnews.com/members/column988.htm
The Scarfo crew includes guys like Phil Narducci and Joe Pungitore, shooters from the 1980s who have returned home over the past three years. The Merlino faction is headed by George Borgesi, Stevie Mazzone and John Ciancaglini
[…]
Acting boss Joseph (Uncle Joe) Ligambi's got a foot in each camp.
It seems quite clear that by 2016 Ligambi is back in the role of acting boss.

Mob Talk Sitdown 19
12 June 2018

https://youtu.be/qt8GcejliOk [re-upload, original video taken down]
DS: Joey Merlino is kind of the name we always hear, still the boss of the Philly mob.
[…]
DS: It’s always about the hands-on situation, who’s running the – allegedly running the day-to-day operation on the street, and there’s an interesting name that has now surfaced to be that person. Long-time Philadelphia figure. Been in the news before, never been arrested for anything serious, Mike “Mikey Lance” Lancellotti. Street boss.
[…]
GA: There was a Christmas party in New York and Joey apparently went up there with some guys from Philadelphia, including Lancellotti, and John Rubeo, the informant, said that Merlino introduced Lancellotti and said, “This is the boss of Philadelphia.” […] Is he the street boss, is he above Merlino, below Merlino, with Merlino? As I said, it’s not an exact science.
[…]
DS: Alright, let’s got to Joe Ligambi. Former boss when Joey Merlino went to jail in 2001. He took over, allegedly ran the show for 13 or 14 years. Now he’s home, relaxing in South Philly for all I can tell. Appears to be on the shelf, but is he in a kind of consigliere-mode here, do think? What would you call him?
GA: I would think so. Ligambi is retired and happy to be […] I don’t think he’s very active. I think he was happy to walk away from the racketeering problems he had and, you know, the hung juries. I don’t think he wants anyway to get heavily involved again, but I think he’s still benefiting from what he’s done in the past and where he stands right now.
DS: Alright, let’s talk about alleged former acting boss Steve Mazzone who, when Ligambi was in prison for about a year or two awaiting trial and Joey was still in prison or just out of prison in Florida, it appeared Steve Mazzone was kind of running as the street boss here. Doesn’t look like that right now. He also looks to have taken a little bit of a backseat.
[…]
GA: I think guys like Stevie Mazzone, guys like Johnny Ciancaglini, they’ve been burned, they don’t want to go back to jail, and, are they doing stuff on the street? Who knows. Are they living well? Appears to be. I don’t see them as major players anymore.
[…]
DS: John Ciancaglini, you mentioned him before, also seems to have quieted down. Had some health problems late last year, early this year. Also seems to be shifting into kind of a relaxed mode here.
[…]
GA: If these guys are still players, they’re taking that philosophical approach. Nobody needs to know who I am. I don’t need to go to the clubs on Delaware Avenue. I just – I’m here, I’m living my life, leave me alone. That kind of thing.
DS: Alright, we’d be remiss if we went past George Borgesi at this point. Everybody I talk to says draw the arrow down, he’s off the totem pole. Appears to be only involved in legitimate businesses. Haven’t heard his name in connection with any kind of criminal activity.
[…]
GA: I think this is a guy that realises there’s money to be made legitimately and he’s out there trying to make it. He’s out there hustling. And I think he’s using his intelligence and his skills to try to channel that into legitimate businesses. Are guys around him still involved? Appears to be. Is that gonna burn him? Who knows. I mean I think that’s something that everyone’s concerned about. But right now he’s off the chart and if you were to talk to him he’d probably tell you he’s happy to be off the chart.
[…]
DS: The captain we’re hearing about all the time these days, who’s in the middle of some kind of investigation, is Dominic Grande.
[…]
DS: Let’s talk about the Scarfo guys a little bit. Very low-key. Involved in legitimate businesses. Seem to be doing well at legitimate businesses and not making a lot of noise.
First time GA and DS publicly mention Lancellotti as playing a role in running the family. Based on the timeline of the 2014 party, it looks like Lancellotti started getting more involved back when Mazzone and Ciancaglini were still running things on the street and was kept on when Ligambi stepped back up as acting boss.
The suspicion that I’ve had for some time is that rather being the ‘acting boss’, Lancellotti was (and possibly still is) functioning as a buffer layer, similar to the ‘top captain’ situation described in Donnie Brasco. Admittedly, it seems harder to believe considering the relative size of the Philadelphia, but it has been acknowledged that as a family they are quite top-heavy. It could be the case that Lancellotti took a more active role at first to insulate Mazzone and Ciancaglini and, then, to compensate for Ligambi’s age and semi-retirement. It could be a situation where you have a boss in Florida, a semi-retired acting boss in Philadelphia (functioning more as a de facto consigliere) and then a more active ‘top captain/ street boss’ buffer layer.

80th Birthday and retirement of Philly acting Mob Boss Joe “The Uncle” Ligambi fuels talk of a new acting boss taking the reins. Mob Boss Joey Merlino set to be released from Fed prison in October. He will remain in Florida.
[…]
Mike [Lancellotti] is sick, recovering.
From the above, Ligambi looks to have remained acting boss until 2019. This is also part of my reasoning for the speculation that there may been a boss (Merlino), acting boss (Ligambi), street boss (Lancellotti) situation going on.

Philly Prime Podcast – Episode 1

GA: I think the consensus is Joey’s still a major player. Although Joey claims not to be involved, he’s the guy who is the kind of lightning rod.
[…]
GA: So, in town, down in South Philly, who’s running it? I mean, Lancellotti’s name has been mentioned in the past.
DS: Michael Lancellotti.
GA: Right. George Borgesi’s always been a guy that’s been part of the so-called hierarchy, although he will deny that as well. If there’s a totem pole, he says he’s on the bottom not the top.
[…]
DS: Let’s talk about numbers right now, it sounds like there’s about thirty made guys on the street.
GA: If you count the Scarfo guys that came back from jail from the convictions in the 80s and the Joey Merlino guys that were convicted in, what was it, 2001?
DS: Yeah.
GA: I mean, those guys are all back in play so to speak. The question is, what is their play? But, yeah, all of those guys are back out there, so now we’re probably talking 20, 25, 30 guys. Probably, I would guess, and this is a guess, if you think of the typical structure there’s a boss, there’s an underboss, there’s a consigliere. Maybe Ligambi’s playing that role now. So, then you got maybe four or five capos, a dozen soldiers…
DS: Street bosses, I think they’re calling them now.
GA: Yeah, they run the crew. And then a dozen soldiers, you know, three or four reporting to each capo.
[…]
DS: We got Scoops Licata up in Newark, the only guy who beat the case. Kind of walked out that one day. […] He’s still out there running things.
If it’s true that Ligambi stepped down to consigliere after being acquitted and is now back to being consigliere (though he is only speculated to perhaps be ‘playing that role now’), that would be a violation of the rule that a member can only serve as consigliere once (unless Ligambi was serving as official consigliere/ acting boss).
Should also be noted that if either Joseph Curro or Gaeton Lucibello were official consiglieri, rather than acting, in the 2000s then Mazzone would have violated the rule by being consigliere in the 1990s and again by 2010.

Some top figures like Mob Captain George Borgesi, foot soldiers Lou D’Angelo, Anthony Borgesi and Anthony Accardo are regulars here along with drop by visits from rising star Capo Dom Grande and alleged Street Boss Mike “Mikey Lance” Lancelotti. Capo Marty Angelina and retired Philly Mob Boss Joe Ligambi as well as others have made the scene here in the past.
Schratwieser also quite explicitly identifies Borgesi as a ‘current’ captain in this article: https://mobtalksitdown.com/philly-mob-covid19-update/.

DS: So if Joey [Merlino] is not the guy at the top, assuming he decides to stay in Florida, stay low-key, Joe Ligambi’s retired, he’s not the top guy, let’s top about who could possibly be the top guy, and I’ll say it. Just from observations on the street, it appears that George Borgesi is the guy in charge. I’m not saying he’s the guy in charge, but at least from appearances, it does look like that.
GA: Yeah, he would deny that and the other question is, in charge of what?
[…]
GA: I think if he were [doing anything illegal], he’d have heard from the feds already.
[…]
DS: Let’s talk about the next level down. Some guys have clearly stepped back here, not wishing to be in the limelight. Michael Lancellotti, Stevie Mazzone, Marty Angelina, people like that. Old time friends of George’s and Joey’s. Boyhood friends. They seem to have at least taken a step back at this point. Where do they stand, that next tier down?
GA: Well yeah, and I mean, you could argue that they’re taking a step back or you could argue that they’ve gotten smarter since they’ve been burned a couple times.
[…]
DS: If none of those guys are the guy, or none of them wants the title, and want to take that step back, do they push a guy like Dominic Grande, who’s supposedly a capo, do they push him up to the top and make him the guy? And not take the heat as the number one guy.
GA: Well, I suppose that could happen.
Interesting to note the change in talk surrounding Borgesi over time, going from the centre of attention in the mid-2010s, to appearing to be ‘off the totem pole’, to, admittedly hesitantly, back as a possible candidate for who’s running what’s left on the street.

Hierarchy positions – Part 3/3

Information from Scott Burnstein

Philly Mob’s ‘Georgie Boy’ Stepping on Toes, Possibly Tempting Fate
05 November 2014

https://gangsterreport.com/philly-mobs- ... ting-fate/
Delaware County, according to court documents and federal files, is alleged to currently belong to Mazzone’s underboss John (Johnny Chang) Ciancaglini.
[…]
Well-know wiseguy worrywart Georgie Boy is “antsy” and “perturbed”, according to those familiar with the situation and the entire current ruling body of the Philly Family (Mazzone, Ciancaglini, Boss, Joseph (Skinny Joey) Merlino and consigliere Joseph (Uncle Joe) Ligambi) “uncomfortable and annoyed.”
Scott’s identifications of Ligambi and Mazzone match up with Anastasia at this time but there’s a notable disparity on Ciancaglini.

Chickie Ciancaglini Back in the Game
21 December 2014

https://gangsterreport.com/chickie-cian ... rns-radar/
There is speculation amongst “insiders” on the street that Chickie [Ciancaglini] might be in line for any of the three top spots in the Philly mob and informants are telling the FBI that it will be up to him which one he wants, if any. If and when that happens, things would reshuffle in the Family’s administration, with Mazzone, Johnny Chang and Uncle Joe Ligambi filling whatever slots he doesn’t choose. Merlino will remain boss in some capacity no matter what, per sources.
Lucibello Out of Prison, Angelina Will Be Soon
02 February 2015

https://gangsterreport.com/lucibello-pr ... replenish/
[Joseph] Ciancaglini got out of the can late last year and is reputed to be the new underboss, with his son, Johnny Chang holding the “acting” underboss slot.
Johnny Chang had been official underboss, however, gladly gave up the title to his dad when Chickie came home. Chickie isn’t said to be in the best of health and the position might be more titular in nature than anything else, per sources, but he often “chimes in with valuable counsel” and receives a weekly tribute envelope.
Where Lucibello and Angelina fit in with the current Philly mob rank and file remains to be seen.
Skinny Joey Is Still LCN Boss in Philly
19 February 2015

https://gangsterreport.com/skinny-joey- ... s-sources/
Philly.com and Bigtrial.net both reported a possible power-sharing situation and a three-man ruling panel of Steven (Handsome Stevie) Mazzone, John (Johnny Chang) Ciancaglini and Philip Narducci currently leading the South Philly-based crime family, citing sources in law enforcement.
According to Gangster Report sources, the law enforcement providing that intelligence is at the state level. Fed sources tell Gangster Report that Joseph (Skinny Joey) Merlino, away in the second month of a four-month stint behind bars on a parole violation last summer, is still officially boss of the syndicate once known as the Bruno-Scarfo mob and the FBI is investigating him as such.
Multiple underworld sources say that the power-sharing is “loose” not “formal” and that a ruling board hasn’t been created, but merely Narducci is being allowed to basically do his own thing and not report to anybody.
[…]
Other sources on the street say the ruling board is a temporary measure until Merlino comes out of prison in May
[…]
LaCosaNostraNews.com recently reported the 52-year old Narducci was either boss or acting boss. Street sources told the Gangster Reports last week that Narducci has been openly campaigning for the job.
The problem? Him and Merlino can’t stand each other. And him and Johnny Chang don’t get along either. Mazzone discussed the possibility of putting Narducci out front to take heat away from him and Merlino with a Gangster Report source last month. No matter what, though, Skinny Joey, 52, remains at the top of the pyramid.
Based on what has happened since, the above description looks more believable (at least to me) than the Ciancaglini-Mazzone-Narducci three-man committee idea.

Mikey Lance Making Life A Little Easier for Handsome Stevie In Philly Mob
26 June 2015

https://gangsterreport.com/mikey-lance- ... -mob-2015/
Michael (Mikey Lance) Lancellotti is recovering from a bout with cancer and aiding the top levels of the mafia in the City of Brotherly Love in running the former Bruno-Scarfo crime family on a day-to-day basis, according to “insider” sources in Philly. In fact, per these sources, one of syndicate boss Joseph (Skinny Joey) Merlino’s first stops on his recent return to his hometown neighborhood of South Philly was a face-to-face with Mikey Lance to discuss Lance’s newfound responsibilities as street boss Steven (Handsome Stevie) Mazzone’s “main relay-man of messages to the other capos.”
Looks like Scott got there first when reporting on Lancellotti stepping up.

GR Sources: Philly Mafia Ups Its Ranks in Recent Months
24 November 2015

https://gangsterreport.com/gr-sources-p ... now-reign/
In the FBI’s opinion, Merlino, made into the mob in 1992 and the son of Scarfo’s underboss Salvatore (Chuckie) Merlino, remains the official boss of the Philadelphia mafia today (a job he’s maintained in one capacity or another for the last 20 years or so). Handsome Stevie Mazzone serves as Merlino’s “boss on the ground and day-to-day caretaker,” sources within Philly law enforcement say, with John (Johnny Chang) Ciancaglini filling Merlino’s underboss role and Johnny Chang’s dad, Joseph (Chickie) Ciancaglini, Sr. and Borgesi’s uncle, Joseph (Uncle Joe) Ligambi, – Merlino’s street boss when he was away at college from 2000-2011 -, acting as twin advisors and dual consiglieres.
Chickie Ciancaglini came out of prison after three decades last year and is officially the Family’s No. 2, but it’s a designation more ceremonial in nature, per this source.
[…]
Narducci and Pungitore, both of whom got sprung from two-decade bids behind bars in the past few years and are second-generation Goodfellas, are considered capos loosely affiliated with the traditional Philly mob led by Merlino and his crew of staunch loyalists, which used to include Borgesi, but apparently doesn’t any longer. Sources say Narducci and Pungitore each pass “an envelope” to Mazzone or Mazzone’s people on a monthly basis and Narducci has “a lot of young guys” lining up in his corner. Borgesi, according to these sources, is getting support from a stable of “hardened, street-corner toughs,” non-made guys tied to labor unions, establishing his own powerbase outside of South Philly and apparently not kicking up any tribute to Merlino or Mazzone.
Also note that Anastasia and Burnstein are aligned in 2015 on the idea of Ligambi and Joseph Ciancaglini as being twin advisers though Scott’s scenario is explicitly less formal and GA has never mentioned or identified John or Joseph Ciancaglini as being underbosses.
Should also note that I am not convinced by the identification of Narducci and Pungitore as captains. Especially considering that when Narducci indicted he was only identified as a ‘member’. When the Justice Department puts out press releases they like to identify high-ranking guys by their title (e.g., see the press releases when Angelina, Staino and Massimino were sentenced). If Narducci did hold rank I believe it would have been publicly identified by law enforcement.

Philly Mafia Realigns Again
27 January 2016

https://gangsterreport.com/philly-mafia ... and-scene/
Dave Schratwieser and renowned east coast mobologist George Anastasia reported Monday night that heavily-respected 76-year old former acting boss Joseph (Uncle Joe) Ligambi is now the current acting boss of the always-fascinating Bruno-Scarfo crime family and Steven (Handsome Stevie) Mazzone, the syndicate’s popular one-time reputed acting boss is now its’ underboss.
[…]
[Ligambi] assumed day-to-day responsibilities for the Philly mob clan mid-to-late last summer or at the latest, early fall and the fact that Mazzone is now fulfilling day-to-day underboss duties doesn’t mean previous alleged acting underboss John (Johnny Chang) Ciancaglini was demoted. Ciancaglini, per multiple sources, is still considered “administration” but both Mazzone and Ligambi and their particularly well-honed leadership and mediation style are needed more primary on the syndicate frontlines right now in light of the current state of fragility on the South Philly streets.
Mafia elder statesman Joseph (Chickie) Ciancaglini, reputed to have been the crime family’s ceremonial No. 2 in charge since his release from prison in 2014 after more than 30 years served for racketeering offenses, has replaced Ligambi as consigliere, according to sources.
[…]
Ligambi was asked by Joey Merlino to come out of a self-imposed semi-retirement around the time his nephew, former consigliere George (Georgie Boy) Borgesi, got off parole in July, in an attempt by Skinny Joey to “maintenance” Borgesi, finally out of prison for the first time since 2000 last year and eager to “reestablish himself in the mob and settle old scores,” – first and foremost related to an intense beef with childhood pal and co-defendant Marty Angelina, per sources, for Angelina’s “raid on Borgesi’s rackets”.
GR Sources: Borgesi Gets Bump Up From Merlino
22 July 2016

https://gangsterreport.com/gr-sources-b ... same-page/
According to one source connected to both Merlino and Borgesi’s respective inner circles, Merlino recently re-upped Borgesi to a capo post.
[…]
“The promotion was mostly ceremonial in nature because for all intents and purposes Georgie’s been pretty much at captain status since he got out (Borgesi was locked up from 2000-2014), but it was an important gesture, it’s the culmination of Joey’s plan to get Georgie in-line,” said the source.
By George, I Think You Got It
07 December 2017

https://gangsterreport.com/by-george-i- ... ent-years/
Borgesi sought to integrate back into the fold in the Bruno-Scarfo crime family “too fast,” for some family administrators’ liking, per sources with intimate knowledge of Borgesi’s mob dealings. Although, he had gone into prison as consigliere and a former captain, he left as a mere soldier.
[…]
[In fall 2016] FBI surveillance units witnessed a dinner celebration informants told them was hosted to honor a crown of new initiates into the crime family, more than half of which were from the Borgesi camp, sources tell Gangster Report, as a gesture of goodwill towards him by Merlino and Ligambi. Then, at some point in 2016, Merlino promoted him to capo, a role he was already fulfilling for all intents and purposes.
Also worthy of note is the sharp contrast between Burnstein and GA/ DS when describing Borgesi’s activities in the late 2010s.

‘Baby Dom’ Grande Has Been An Acting Capo In Philly’s Bruno-Scarfo Crime Family Since ’16, Per Sources
03 April 2018

https://gangsterreport.com/baby-dom-gra ... r-sources/
According to sources on the street and in law enforcement, Philadelphia mafia figure Domenic (Baby Dom) Grande was upped to “acting” captain status some time in the last two years. The 38-year old Grande is considered a fierce up-and-comer in South Philly mob circles and is serving as caretaker of Michael (Mikey Lance) Lancellotti’s crew, while Lancellotti is helping with the day-to-day maintenance of the Bruno-Scarfo crime family as a whole, per these sources.
Returning to the Frontlines

Sources claim Francis Iannarella may be getting a crew to run and could be acting as a conduit between current crime family administrators and button men from the past, like him, paroled from federal custody in the last decade.
What Position Is Faffy Iannarella Playing in the Philadelphia Mafia?
27 October 2018

https://gangsterreport.com/what-positio ... lino-gang/
[Iannarella] is in line to be the Bruno-Scarfo crime family’s new consigliere and has been middling for Family administrators lately, holding meetings with subordinates on their behalf, per sources.
[…]
Former acting boss and consigliere Joseph (Uncle Joe) Ligambi is spending more time in Florida, leaving an opening in the crime family’s hierarchy some are saying Iannarella will soon fill. Another former Scarfo capo, 83-year old Joseph (Chickie) Ciancaglini, had acted in a consigliere capacity since his release from prison a few years ago, but per sources, would rather advise in a non-formal capacity going forward.

Philly Mafia Figure Marty Angelina To Make GJ Appearance Related to ’92 Shooting
12 August 2019

The 57-year old Angelina was the Bruno-Scarfo crime family’s underboss in the late 2000s. Today, he’s considered a captain in the family.
Philly Mafia Figure Damion Canalichio Walks Free from Prison
30 January 2020

https://gangsterreport.com/philly-mafia ... r-sources/
Multiple sources speculate [Canalichio] will be offered a capo slot in the crime family hierarchy if he wants to return to active duty.

In summary:

There's a lot of information out there on the hierarchy. A lot of it fits together well-enough, a lot of it not so much, a lot of it seems to contradict itself. In terms of conclusions, at this point all I'd say is Merlino's still the boss, Grande is a captain, Licata is the captain in North Jersey, Borgesi might be the one running what's left on the street and everything else is up in the air.

- Nephew of Michael Lancellotti

- One article by Julie Shaw from 2013 noted that Michael Orlando testified Albert Lancellotti as a member

- If Lancellotti was inducted after the John Casasanto murder like Anthony Nicodemo and Damion Canalichio, Orlando would not know about it
- I haven’t found audio or transcripts of Orlando’s testimony in 2013 but I have heard some of his testimony from 2012 where he identified Michael Lancellotti as a member but not Albert
- I can’t say for sure, but it seems most likely to me that Shaw confused Albert for Michael

- Photographed at Anthony Staino’s wedding
- Resides in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

- Licata decided to take Malgeri from Centorino and assign him to Louis Fazzini to see if he was worth proposing

- Authorities believed Salvo’s car was used to dump the body of Ralph Mazzuca in 1995

Yeah but about 10-15 of those 45ish members are inactive/retired including staino I believe as well.

Neither Ligambi's brother or Borgesi's have ever been confirmed as "made"?
No, but best guess is they are definitely made.

Seems like even if there not making money like the old days merlino and his guys are carrying on tradition and inducting new guys. They probaly have as many members as they did when scarfos regime came crashing down in 87. Merlino only got 1 yr supervised release so he'll probaly be at xmis partys all over the lcn map come December

Dave Schratwieser today on instagram saying there are 35 made guys (presumably meaning on the street, regardless of how active they are) including the Scarfo guys and North Jersey.

So, if we were to exclude incarcerated members and the Boston guys, my count (for confirmed members) looks like this:

Martin Angelina
George Borgesi
Damion Canalichio
Vincent Centorino
John Ciancaglini
Joseph Ciancaglini
Joseph Ciancaglini Jr
Martin Curro
Eric Esposito
Louis Fazzini
Vincent Filipelli
Dominic Grande
Joseph Grande
Francis Iannarella
Michael Lancellotti
Joseph Licata
Joseph Ligambi
Gaeton Lucibello
Salvatore Mazzone
Steven Mazzone
Joseph Merlino
Nicholas Milano
Phillip Narducci
Nicholas Olivieri
Anthony Pungitore
Joseph Pungitore
Domenic Rugnetta
Salvatore Scafidi
Anthony Staino
Joseph Stanfa
Luigi Tripodi

Add the five made in 2015 and that brings the list up to 36. Don't know if Schratwieser would include Domenic Rugnetta (if he's still alive), so that might bring it down to the 35 he's talking about.
