I thought the Pernas were supposed to be big shots in the Lucchese family, I'm surprised that someone of John's age and status is running around beating people up like some high school kid. Does he not have associates that he can farm it out to at least?

The Pernas are a huge family especially if you count connected relatives with a different last name. Isn't he 41 or 42, not that old considering the age of most wiseguys and also this didn't happen last week it was five or six years ago. You have made guys with ten or twenty years on him in all the families that are willing to get their hands dirty. From what I hear he's always been the tough guy out the bunch. If he's an earner ,not afraid to get his hands dirty and keeps his mouth shot then id consider him a good soldier. I'm sure now looking back those years he wish he had someone else do it ,but we don't know the details and why he handled it the way he did

A really good buddy of mine was in Johnnys Frat at Seton Hall, he used to go into Newark and rob the corner boys of their drugs and cash just for fun like Bobby said. I’ve told this story before either on this board or the other I can’t remember. There were a few mobsters kids attending Seton Hall at that time period, they had their own little campus crew of wise guys kids. The famous Seton Hall Dorm fire happened around that time and believe it or not that rat Ricciardi helped the Detectives solve it, it was like something out of a Hollywood movie.

Like I said I’ve told this story before on either this board or the other about Johnny robbing corner boys in Newark just for fun.

Johnny is a tough and crazy mother fucker. He was NJ All State wrestler in HS and wrestled at Seton Hall on a D1 Scholarship. He’s as tough as they come. I am sure he has mellowed out a little bit in his 40s. Last time I saw him he was probably 29-31 years old when my buddy that went to college with him had his stag party.

Yup. He would go down south orange ave into Newark during college. If anyone knows where seton hall is... one second you’re in a real rough part of Newark and the next you’re in a way more upscale are when you get by seton hall. This a long time ago but point is... he’s really a tough guy. He knows what he signed up for.

One time about ten years ago I was driving on South Orange Ave in the middle of the night and the animals were in the middle of the street blocking my path on the road. Then literally two miles down the road you're in South Orange and the Seton Hall campus in a wealthy area with a lot of Jews.

That family Perna\Tacceta is very well respected,they live and breath that life ,the kid just came home,this shit is old ,from before his old case I believe,hopefully they don't hit him that hard . As far as a deal hopefully he will get a good plea deal ,it's b.s.to go back and hit him for this but that's how they play. And as far as chances that he goes bad,Over This,c'mon I highly doubt he even contemplates it .....Just saying.....I believe it was within the past couple weeks a poster from there area said him or his bro had a pic of there uncle Marty T. On Instagram saying it was his idol Lol. I just read the indictment and I’m surprised that with all the money the Perna’s pull in John still owed 17k on 2006 bens lol and this is in 2016. And he was still too cheap to pay it of he had his boy bring it to beware and set it on fire for insurance money lmao he sounds like a true criminal
