Great work! Do you know how many soldiers were in Amato's crew? It seems like he had a lot of associates reporting directly to him and handling most of his business..

I have no clue how many soldiers were in his crew, but I’m guessing the 19 other defendants busted are the ones he was with most of the time. Because of how the Colombos operate, he could have 5 more soldiers reporting to him who only see him once a month to drop off an envelope, and who only call Amato for sit-downs or formal Mafia occasions.

Have to delay the release of part three because I found out a lot more about John Dunn. Not the 30-year-old gentleman in the indictment, but he shares the same name with a former Amato crew member named John Dunn who is active in card games and video-gambling. After Amato's 1994 imprisonment, Dunn became an on-record associate of Joseph “Joe the Blond” Giordano. In 2011, Dunn was indicted as an associate of Giordano because he discussed his illegal gambling operations with Tommy McLaughlin and helped McLaughlin set up his own gambling joint.

I hear ya and generally agree but I think it has more to do with getting caught today vs 30 years ago . If they could still get away with the violence we would see a lot more ( not to mention more wise guys ) but today you have to do the risk reward analysis. I’m worth a few million with real estate, is it worth going to jail for 10 years ( violent act ) to keep my hands on a $5-10K loan book. With so many cameras and little fear of violent retribution, only the idiots would be acting like cowboys.
