Re: Sonny Franzese
apparently Guy Fatato made hundreds of hours of tapes on Sonny Franzese when he was cooperating. i wish we'd be able to get transcripts. ive seen quotes and excerpts in Gang Land and some other news articles but would love to see more. Sonny seemed to have gossiped a lot during their convos about the Colombo family - teaching Fatato the history and the goings on at the time the tapes were made (mid 2000s) - im sure with that info we'd be able to fill in some blanks and probably hear some new, interesting stuff

Re: Sonny Franzese
I checked it and Michael says his father was made in 1950.
There is something weird about Sonny´s age. In the FBN book, it says he was born 1in 1919. This matches with the 1940 US census where he is listed as 21. His father Carmine is listed as a bartender working in a beer place and Sonny as a chauffor for a beer company. It says his father was born in Italy but John was born in New York and not in Naoles as is widely believed. Mother´s name is Mary. This would make him 100 years old today, and not 102. Is this a completely different John Franzese I found in the 1940 US census? If not, anybody care to explain why Sonny is considered to be 102 today?

And stuff gets weirder.... In the 1930 US census siblings Josephine, Gilda, Rose, Felicia, Onofrio, Michael, Louizo and John all live togethe on Leonard Street in Brooklyn. The males are listed as John´s siblings in the FBN book. John is listed as 11 years old and born in Italy. But the funny part is, their father´s name is Salvatore. (!)

Re: Sonny Franzese
I'd go with the 102 year-old age as the BOP seems to be pretty accurate with their records since the DOJ and FBI can get access to birth records, socials, etc. which normally wouldn't be publicly available. There were lots of errors in the old census records, particularly when there were language barriers involved or over handwriting legibility. This could account for some of the inconsistencies in Franzese's case.

You never can tell, though. Especially concerning turn of the century records concerning immigrants.
Re: Sonny Franzese
The funny thing is, Michael Franzese has referenced the fact that his father was born in 1919, as opposed to 1917, but when Sonny turned 100, Michael was all over that bandwagon.

Of course. Not saying yours was a definitive, just was the most reasonable conclusion.

Wise men listen and laugh, while fools talk.
