John Veasey, and some NJ Gambino captain, didn't he change his name to get made?

Andrew Knapik, changed his name to Merola to get made, but it has been said that he was full blooded Italian but was adopted or he took the name of his stepfather or something like that. He was proposed by Jacky d'Amico..

Just curious.. no one ever called chucky out or talked sbit to him like I'm not taking orders from you.. you're not even Italian ?? And how much was he really making weekly with the coke? I've heard he was moving 20 keys a week don't know how true that is.. but that's a ton of cash. Pittsburgh/ Youngstown was fucking crazy . Lot of warning going on in that area with the casino club and the drugs ands everything else

I spoke to my contact at the Pittsburgh Post Gazette today and he is doing an in depth obituary on Porter that will run in either tomorrow or Sunday's paper. No media coverage because he disappeared into the shadows for the last 16 years in relative obscurity. I was surprised to read so many nice tributes about him from my Larimer Ave peeps, many still stay in touch with him and many understand why he did it.

Correction. 100 kilo's per month for more than 10 years...plus gambling, extortion, unions, prostitution and commercial real estate. Chucky had a ton of cash, all of his kids turned out very successful. Here are a few articles from his trial, I have all of them, but I'll post a few:

What's your point with the photos? Everybody knows it's a shit hole now, but it was THE Italian hub in Pittsburgh from the early 1900's until the early 1970's. All of my friends from Larimer Ave no longer live there but they are neighborhood guys and gals who know these guys we are talking about very well. One of them was on trial with Porter and he has given me alot of information. Persona non grata? What the hell are you talking about?

Other posters are reading this... Why can't I show them what a shit hole the entire western side of Pennsylvania has become?

You could do whatever the fuck you want. We're talking about Porter though, not the decline of old neighborhoods. If the thread was about neighborhood decline, I could see where it would fit. It's just not that pertinent or applicable in this discussion. You should start a thread on City Neighborhood Decline, then everybody from every city represented on this forum could posts pics of infested neighborhood's that used to be thriving.

Sensitive much?

This thread is about Chucky Porter. Phat posted pics of the decline of the area that Chucky was from. How it used to be a thriving community and this is what it is now. Perfectly appropriate. And interesting.
And I for one, who's never set foot in shithole Pittsburgh, and never will, found it interesting enough.

You shouldn't take it so personally.

It's not about that Sonny. And I'm not sure where you heard Chucky was from Larimer Ave, he grew up in Lawrenceville. Phat thinks I'm treating him "persona non grata." Before you comment, make sure you know what the fuck you're talking about. It's an offline issue. But I'm gonna sleep better tonight knowing that you enjoy looking at broken down neighborhood photos. Thanks for your input, I'll lock it in my secret box for photos of broken down neighborhoods.

And Sonny...go back and read the fucking thread. He didn't post anything about Larimer until I mentioned my Larimer friends who were commenting about Chucky and then he goes on the Larimer tangent. I have no problem with Phat, he thinks I'm mad at him because I cut about 200 people on social media. It was nothing personal, but my wife doesn't know him and we purged some social media contacts. I guess he needed to hear that from me. I like Phat, I'd help him if he ever needed it. So again, before you take a dump out of your mouth, use common sense.
