I'm there damn near every night! 52 topics is becoming a part of my late nights in cold, dark Sweden.

I'm in no rush to get to the Giannini years. That will be great but I'm more interested in the older stuff and hearing about Sicily/sicilians and Franks family.

The small anecdotes and the unique insight into the mafia sphere that's not just about crime and power is golden. It takes you there and gives context and warmth, it does feel like it was actually a brotherhood and not just a way to get money and power.

Protetarian yes I've been getting similar feedback from folks who definitely are more interested in how people in that life respected the fraternity while I was a small kid and before rather than my late teens and after but yes we will cover some more earlier stuff before I got to myself and my ex buddies tku for watching

I had to run an errand in Ridgewood recently and haven’t been there in a long minute now. Crazy how much that neighborhood has changed even compared to like 10 years ago. I came out of my car and there was a mob of like 20 transplant kids with pink hair and shit. I was like “I need to get back to the Bronx, where the fuck am I??” lol.

Yeah it’s for sure been happening for a while now, but I was surprised at how much it has accelerated recently. I didn’t even see any Puerto Ricans! I have some close friends who were gangster PR dudes back in the day in Ridgewood; today, them, all their families, to a person, all live in Jersey.

I remember when I lived in the near north side of Chicago briefly in 2013 I was like "Is this Chicago?". So different from when I was in the city as a kid. Just yuppies and hipsters. I haven't set foot in Chicago since 2016 but I imagine it's a lot worse now.

PR population is rapidly declining in a lot of NYC neighborhoods with influx of Mexicans/other immigrant groups on one side and transplant types on the other. Overall, PR population in NYC as a whole has declined by 20% (!) just since 2017. This matches what I have seen anecdotally, as a great number of people I know no longer live in the 5 boros (they’re mainly all out in Jersey or up in Orange County etc today).
