yes i just looked through my FBI files on the gambinos. they say there was an estimated amount of 280 made members.

I am a new member and have always been fascinated by the Mafia. Is the Los Angeles Mafia still a thing or have they been dormant since the early 2000's? All of the info I read on the forum is a little old so I assume they are no longer active in LA.

Yeah they're mostly inactive. I've also read that Chicago has a couple guys out there

I believe it was reported that Rotolo had managed to create a federation of 13 families and it was also described that the ruling "Council" of Palermo in place of Provenzano was divided into "four clans". Is it known as to which families were in the alliance with Rotolo and how the territories were split up in the four clans? If anything, it sounds like the bosses created 4 larger families in Palermo at the time.

I think this is way off. 280 made members in the Sicilian faction of the Gambino family? I'd say no more than a dozen people involved in that group. You're providing an estimate membership for the entire family - and even 280 is high.
